Happy First Birthday Lucy!

Today is Lucy's first birthday! It's not the exact date, but its a rough estimate based off the date we picked her up in Hoboken. She was 12 weeks when we picked her up. She snoozed the whole car ride back to Allentown. She is now living in New York(not the city). Her family owns a camp and she gets to spend the whole summer there going on boat rides and having fun! She also has a sister named Roxy.  Lucy likes to bite at Roxy's ankles for attention (I think my little Penny taught her that lol). Lucy and Penny were best of buds when she was here. Penny is only 14-15 lbs so she is small and Lucy grew fast so they werent to far apart in size and would wrestle all the time!

Attached is some pictures of Miss Lucy while she was in our home as a foster! You can see her latest picture in the blog thing on our home page =)

Update on Chamberberg Mill Mama Addie

Hi Guys! I wanted to pass this along. December 28th I adopted out Mitzy, my current puppy mill foster. That same day was the first anniversary of the adoption of another puppy mill girl I fostered, Addie. Addie was one of the mill survivors that Tiff rescued from a mill in Chambersburg, PA in November, 2008. Three of her other mill mates were Bea with Lisa V., Quincy with Gilda and Amber with Emily T. She must have had a horrific existence in that mill because she was very emotionally damaged and even after having her for several months she was still extremely scared of humans. She has become the luckiest girl in the world because she was adopted by a very, very special family who continued to work with her and never gave up...even though it was a long and rocky road. In honor of her first anniversary they sent this video of her. My jaw dropped because I can hardly believe this is the same girl who physically shook when you came within 2 feet of her and fought for her life when you had to pick her up.

Her new family, Cathy and her daughter Alexis, have transformed this frightened mill girl into happy and healthy dog. I think what makes me love this video is you can hear how much Cathy and Alexis love this little girl!!! Just a little chicken soup for the rescuer's soul...

Here is her anniversary video.

And here is what her family says about her:

"Hi Jodi,

We can't believe it has been 1 year!!!! And we all are doing GREAT! As you can see Addie is just flourishing. We would never have imagined that she would be this good. She adores us and especially Petey...they are like brother and sister. To think last year when we brought her home....we had to keep her leash on and she wouldn't come near us...for months. I especially love when I come home and she hears the garage door, she is at the top of the stairs and when she sees my face she wiggles in excitement! She sleeps with me in my bed and snores like the dickens ( it lulls me to sleep!).

Thank you sooooo much for her!!!!! Jodi you did a great job! Share that video with Boston rescue if you want.

Please visit us on your next visit to Hoboken! Have a Wonderful New Year!

Love,

Cathy, Lex, Petey and PRINCESS ADDIE"

Update on Lucy

I received an update on Lucy. Lucy was adopted out last May and will be turning one in a week! She has gotten much bigger! Attached is a picture, Lucy is on the right. Her owner says that she is very big now, and still biting her sister Roxy's back legs for attention :) Here is a picture of them from last summer. Lucy is on the right, and is playing tug of war with Roxy.

Update on Bizzy Bee McGee

Bizzy is doing GREAT! She is recovering wonderfully. She has been testing out her new little knees constantly. You can really see how much improvement there is, she attempts to do many more things than she used to(and I end up chasing her around trying to keep her inactive, but she just wants to go go go go go go!!!!!) She is the happiest little lady, smiling all the time. She gets so excited when she sees you and does a complete body wiggle dance. She always has the biggest smile on her face. She is also a pro at "punching" my male pit and boston, but i feel she at least deserves this for all the boys that chased her tail at the mill lol!!!(and they toloerate it lol) Overall, she is just a pleasure to have around. She is a pro at cuddling and soft kisses, as well as a PRO at FETCH!!!!! she also likes to kick her toys under the couch and force us to get up and get them.

We are still looking for the perfect forever home for this little girl! Im going to miss her when she leaves!

New Foster Petey

Hi everyone,

It took us a while but here are some pictures of new foster Petey. His owners surrendered him last Thursday. He is absolutely gorgeous. Full of energy, he just wants to play play play! He acts more like a one year old than a five year old. He is very sweet and once he tires out he likes to snuggle on the couch or sleep in the bed with our 12-year-old.

Wish for 2010

Throughout the year 2010:

May you always make the right moves.

May your cup runneth over with love.

May you alway find shelter from any storm.

May you remain good looking and looking good!

May you find the perfect diet for your soul. (If this face doesn't make you want to stop eating sausage, nothing will.)

May you find perfect balance in the company you keep.

May you have as much fun an you can before someone makes you stop.

May the worst thing that happens to you come in slobbery pink and furry tan.

May you manage to make time for siesta.

May all the new folk you meet be interesting and kind.

May your accessories always harmonize with your natural beauty.

Should your mouth ever be bigger than your stomach, may you have a chewing good time.

May you always know when to walk away and when to run.

Any may your friends always bring you joy!

Kids and Dogs

The photographer did a great job of matching up the kids and dogs. This is adorable!!

A friend is someone we turn to when our spirits need a lift.

A friend is someone we treasure for our friendship is a gift.

A friend is someone who fills our lives with beauty, joy, and grace.

And makes the world we live in a better and happier place.

There is a miracle called friendship, that dwells in the heart. You do not know how it happens or when it gets its start.

But you know the special lift it always brings.
You realize that friendship is the world's most precious gift!
