I just got this Christmas card in the mail from Vic's forever family.
They put Vic's photo on the front of their Christmas card this year. :)

Former Foster Vic - Update
Vic found his forever home last year. It was a perfect match. Today his
owner is celebrating Vic's birthday, he turns 10 today.
He writes "It's this little guy's birthday today. Thanks for being so
crazy, Vic."
Plans for today include taking him out for a canine birthday cupcake at
a local dog shop!
Happy birthday, Vic!

Vic in His Forever Home
Just saw this photo of Vic posted by his forever home.
It looks like he's perched on the back of the sofa in the living room.
The photo is captioned "Vic dislikes mornings" :)

He looks too comfortable there!!!

Vic's New Home
This is Vic at his forever home. He's so relaxed now. He loves being
an only! Damon, his new owner posted this photo on his Facebook page
along with a funny caption.

His new owners write,
"Hi Chris,
Just wanted to say thank you for bringing Vic. Jacquie and I love him,
he's a very well behaved dog, except when it comes to his ball. He's had
a slight issue with getting over excited during playtime and scratching,
and hopefully he'll learn that he'll lose ball time when he consistently
scratches. (We had to hide them on him yesterday and give him stuffed
animals to play with)
Other than that though he's very well behaved, no accidents so far, and
he does very well alone.
Last night he curled up with Jacquie and I while we watched TV and slept
like a baby.
He doesn't seem to like the cold too much but he hasn't gone on a full
walk yet, today I'm going to try to get one in before the huge snowstorm
that's heading my way.
Vic is very happy and thanks to you!
Thanks again!"

Vic's Adoption
Yesterday Vic was adopted by Damon McKernan. Vic was thrilled with his new home. He no
longer has to gulp down his food for fear it would be gone and he had ALL
the toys to himself. The best part of all is that his new human is willing to
throw the ball for Vic as many times as Vic wanted, without another dog
interrupting. I have never seen Vic this happy. He had a brand new crate he
tried out a couple times. He had a brand new coat, new toys and a new human!
I'm sure you have all been close enough to a dog that you could 'read' their
thoughts through their actions. Vic is very easy to read, and at one point Vic
and I were alone in the living room. He had one of his new toys in his mouth.
He walked over to me, sat at my feet with his back to me and surveyed the
room…. like he was soaking it all in.
Then he let out a sigh of contentment.
He looked up at me, as if to ask if this was really happening. I petted Vic
and told him "It's all yours Vic, it's all for you." I drove 329 miles for that
special moment and it was worth every mile. Here are some photos..
Thanks to EVERYONE who helped make this day happen.

Brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations, Chris, What a happy story!

We are crying happy tears for him! Such a happy ending (or is it a happy beginning!?!) for him and his new human.
That is amazing. Its moments like this that make all the hard tomes worth it. Thanks for finding him the perfect home :) I think we all needed a tearjerker like this after the last couple weeks. - Erin S.

Vic’s day after
Poor Vic, just has his surgery yesterday. I couldn't find a doughnut
for his neck, so today on his way home, Harv is gonna stop and get one
for him. Meanwhile I've used some foam padding that was left over from
a flooring installation we did. He doesn't like it, but it's doing the
job and frankly....it looks funny and it making me smile. I don't think
this contraption will last the day, but for now it's working.
Here are some photos of Vic last night, and today in the giant collar I
made for him. This is not his best Halloween for sure! Poor Vic.
Chris & Vic
Feel better soon Vic. Next Halloween be a blast for you
