In Memory of Daisy Mae
I made a memory box when Miss Daisy Mae passed back in September. We keep it on a shelf with her ashes, her paw print they did for us and her prayer blanket that was sent to her.
She had a great year with us, brought us numerous memories and laughs and we wouldn't change one thing. This girl has brought us so much love and laughter and totally changed our aspect on senior dogs. Throughout the year we were searching for her retirement home, but all along we knew she had found it and now she has retired permanently and will stay in our hearts forever. We miss her so much and can't get her off our minds. We know she's in a better place now and is now pain free at the rainbow bridge.

In Memory of Daisy Mae
Today is a bittersweet day. Last year on this day my
husband, Joe drove to Sunbury PA to meet a complete stranger who was
surrendering his late father's bostons who felt he was unable to provide
the attention they required. At this point we had spoken to the rescue
and stated we would foster both Winston and Daisy momentarily until we
could find them a foster home since Joe and I didn't feel equipped to
handle two foster dogs, since we had never fostered before and already
had two bostons of our own...little did we know that these two would
steel our hearts within seconds and that month would turn into a year...
during that year Daisy and Winston became part of our family.
Daisy
became the "mother" of our gaggle of bostons and Winston had become my
own personal stalker. Joe and I would not change one thing about this
past year. Joe modified his work schedule to allow more potty breaks
for Daisy, we didn't go on any vacations together (since it's impossible
to find someone to watch four dogs), we planned everything around our
fur family to make sure all four of them knew they were loved and never
felt alone, it just felt natural to plan around them....
Today, exactly one year later we picked up Daisy Mae's
remains. 😢 She had a great year with us, brought us numerous memories
and laughs and we wouldn't change one thing. This girl has brought us
so much love and laughter and totally changed our aspect on senior dogs.
Throughout the year between Daisy getting better and becoming 100%
again we were searching for her retirement home, but all along we knew
she had found it and now she has retired permanently and will stay in
our hearts forever. We miss her so much and can't get her off our
minds. We wish she could celebrate wth us today knowing it's been a
year of happiness, but we know she's in a better place now and is now
pain free at the rainbow bridge.
Thank you everyone who has helped her throughout the past
year, she really wouldn't have made it this far without all the love
and support from NEBTR, all the volunteers, donators & supporters.
You truly made a difference in her life as well as ours. ♡

What a beautiful tribute to Miss Daisy Mae. Thank you so much for

Daisy Mae Goes to the Rainbow Bridge
Hi everyone,
It is with great sadness to
report that our sweet Miss Daisy Mae crossed the rainbow bridge last
night. She truly did steal my heart as well as my husbands. She became
lethargic last night so my husband and I rushed her to the emergency
vet where they had noticed a large mass tumor located off of her kidney
causing internal bleeding. She wasn't responding to us and couldn't walk
or keep her head up so we knew, along with the recommendation of the
vet at that point it would only be selfish to keep her alive. We let
her pass in my arms as we told her we loved her and we hoped that we
gave her one last year of life that she could never forget. We are
truly going to miss out spunky senior. We know she stole our heart
along with many others.
Thank you,
Courtney & Joe Kautz

I attached my favorite photo of her from her 13th birthday this year ♡
So sorry to hear this news. :( She was a lucky girl, to have the
two of you by her side.
Oh Courtney I'm so sorry to hear about sweet Daisy Mae. I loved seeing and hearing about what she and Winston were getting up to. Thank you for giving her a loving home to feel safe for the time she had with you. RIP sweet girl.

Photos of WInston and Daisy
Just wanted to check in and share some pictures of Winston
and Daisy and let everyone know they're doing great! Winston celebrated
his 12th birthday on Wednesday, but still acts like he's two and Miss
Daisy is still running the house as the Queen B. Lol gotta love these
two! ♡
There's a picture of Miss Daisy being a little vein, but who could blame her? She's gorgeous. I also attached a silly pic of Winston celebrating his birthday, Daisy acting like a dork. And
also a picture of daisy, Winston & my miss piggy "synchronized
sleeping." LolCourtney Kautz

Winston and Daisy Say Thank You to Santa
Winston and Daisy both received their secret santa gifts
this week and we wanted to give a big thank you their their secret
santas. They love their gifts!
Daisy Mae's secret santa was Elisa and she sent Miss Daisy a
cute pink bedazzled hoodie and some very durable balls. I tell ya this
girl loves her tennis balls! The hoodie fits her perfect!
Sir Winston's secret santa was Ellen Scovotti. Winston as
well received a hoodie to keep him warm! Fits him perfect. (I think he
looks like E.T. in it lol) Ellen also sent him some treats, nylabones
and a Kong stuffed animal (which daisy decided to claim as hers, lol. I
guess it's a good think winston likes to share with his big sis.)
They are both so overly excited and want to thank both of
you for making their Christmas extra special! You two are so awesome for
thinking about the foster dogs for Christmas and your generosity is
greatly appreciated by two very happy seniors. ♡
Also they had so much fun playing with their new toys last
night you can see how wiped out they were....Winston decided his sister
would be an amazing pillow! =)
Thank you,
Courtney Kautz, Sir Winston & Miss Daisy Mae.

Winston and Daisy Say Thanks
Winston received his bed from his wishlist the other day, it's in there lol under all his camo blankets. And he also received his new coat, but he wouldn't sit still to model it so I had Miss Daisy model it. They wanted to thank Angelique and Ray Jones and their pups Ringo and Maddie for the lovely bed, their food/water bowls and more treats they received. Also wanted to thank Barbara Clary Kelly for the lovely coats she has purchased to help keep the babies warm this winter. (The other one is still on its way) such kind hearted people to think about these bostons!!! You all are absolutely awesome! Sir Winston and Daisy wanted to send you many sloppy boston kisses as well! Thank you again, and have a great holiday!
I also included some recent pictures of this dynamic duo. =)

and Daisy Mae a giant dog bed! =) love these two so much! ♡
Hope everyone has a great thanksgiving!!! And please if

Adoptable Pups Spotlight! WINSTON and DAISY
Adoptable Pups Spotlight! WINSTON and DAISY
This adorable, inseparable pair is ready to be adopted... TOGETHER! The 10 and 12-year-old duo is looking for their forever home, and promises boatloads of fun for whoever adopts them
Here's a little about each:
Daisy is laid back, sweet, and loves attention. She gets attached to her human(s) and loves to follow them around. You'll usually find her with a tennis ball in her mouth (even if it's not being thrown, she just likes to have it), she loves belly rubs, treats, bones and cuddling. She does well around dogs and children, and has not been around cats yet. She would do best in a home that would allow her frequent potty breaks. Prior to being rescued, Daisy was in her crate for 10-12 hours per day, but would prefer to be out and about most of the day. She does not have accidents in her crate. She is a little bit scared of stairs, and her foster mom carries her down them - so she would do a home without too many. She doesn't have any medical issues except with her eye, which was removed in foster care - and has actually made her more spunky!
Winston is a big old attention hog and LOVES being the center of attention! He's a bit of a diva - he cries a little if you don't give him a treat after he goes potty! Another little quirk - he does a tap dance when you ask him to sit... Winston is sure to have you laughing - he has quite the personality! He is okay around dogs he is familiar with, but sometimes gets snappy around stranger dogs. Winston needs a family that will help him with a little more obedience training, but is VERY motivated by treats! Winston would do best in a home without small children since he can get grumpy when startled.
This brother and sister would be a great addition to any home looking for a dynamic and fun duo. They are sure to keep you laughing! If you are interested in adopting Winston and Daisy, please fill out an application on our website: www.nebostonrescue.org.

Winston Almost Ready for Adoption
Oh, the look of defeat. =\ poor Winston went and got his manlihood
taken away from him today. He's doing as expected, a little defeated
and upset with the cone of shame. Hopefully he has a quick recovery!
And now that he is neutered and up to date with his vaccinations he and Miss Daisy will be ready for adoption once he's all healed!!! =)
