Happy Gotcha Day Penny

A year ago today we received a foster puppy into our home with a very piercing barking voice and a horrible fear of children and dislike of other dogs.  I wondered many days in the beginning if we were ever going to be able to help Penny. It became very clear in a short period of time that Penny had found her forever home in our home. She stole my heart pretty quickly and she over came her fears in a few months.  She is a love and a cuddle bug. We love our Penny and she makes progress on a daily basis. Thank you Jerrilyn for letting us foster Penny and thank you everyone in this wonderful group for giving us the opportunity to adopt both our Penny and our Brady boy!

Pretty Penny - Former Foster

Hello everyone, 

I had to share. Penny has officially accepted 2 more children into her life. For those of you who don't know, Penny used to launch and bark at children  and it looked like she wanted to eat them alive. She was traumatized by her previous life. We welcomed Penny into our home as a foster last December 22nd and we couldn't bear to see her go so we adopted her. Last Christmas she could not be in the same room as my grandson without going totally crazy and now they are best friends.  This weekend we had 2 kids visit and the pictures below speak for themselves.  Also Brady was suppose to be adopted by a family without children and he is amazing with them also.
We are.so happy with our NEBTR Bostons and eternally grateful to all of you! Thank you for so much happiness

Penny's Progress

We are so excited. Penny is off leash with our grandson and she has covered him with kisses
It is so worth it to put in the work

We couldn't resist Penny and we did adopt her :)  Penny has been a blessing to all of us. She has also given me the confidence and the motivation to continue to foster. As soon as she is fully socialized, we will be able to open our doors to another foster in need. The next step is to work with her and other kids. She has so much love in her heart, she just wants to kiss everyone now, I believe I can work her to become a therapy dog. I do have high hopes for her and I am very excited that our goals have been met way ahead of schedule. I keep telling my grandson that by Christmas she would be sitting on his lap. Well she did that today and I posted a video on facebook  of the 2 of them playing on my bed. Just to think that last Christmas Eve, 2 days after she came in to our house as a foster, she could not be in our family room, not even in a crate because she would go crazy just looking at my grandson or any other kid!!

Penny Makes Progress

We are.so excited today is an important day. Penny came to us as a foster with a terrible aggressive fear of children in December of 2013. She is finally taking cookies from my grandson's hand..She could not even look at kids without going totally crazy when she first came to us in December. Slowly but surely
Our goal is to have her sit on his lap by Christmas!

Former Foster Penny

Penny loves to climb up and wrap herself around my neck. She also gives hugs but it is hard to get a picture it would require someone being with me all the time.

I'm so glad I kept her. She makes us laugh and our Brady plays so much more now, we had to increase his food intake, he was loosing weight because of the increased activity We are doing lots of training and Penny is showing amazing progress. When we get her to be where she should, I will make a video with all her victories. Fear aggression towards anything and anyone that moves specially children and other animals. She can now be in the same room as children and dogs without screaming ( yes screaming, she doesn't bark, she Screams) people would look puzzled when she would start screaming. It was comical!!!
We love her to pieces...

She is an awesome dog, a diamond in the rough that is beginning to shine As soon as we have her playing with the kids i will share a video with the group. ..yes she will conquer her fears Thank you everyone for being part of this amazing group and for the gifts of Brady and Penny. They are our world and we wouldn't have found them if it wasn't for NEBTR, this group of amazing people.
