Update on Sassi
Here is Sassi relaxing aboard her sister's boat. She's a real sweetie. Can't believe she's already been with us 2.5 years. We love her!

Happy Second Gotcha Day Sassy
,
Dear EllyMonfett,
It's Sassy's Second Gotcha Day! It's so hard to believe it's been two years.
She is such a big part of our family. She is a wonderful little girl who
has really come into her own. Thank you and everyone at NEBTR so much for
bringing us together.
Sincerely,
Linda Wichlac
Thanks Elly, it's so great to hear how much our dogs are loved.

Happy Gotcha Day Sassy
It's Sassy's 1st Happy Gotcha Day. It's hard to believe she been with us a year. She fits right in to our family like she's always been with us. Here's a picture of her enjoying her Happy Gotcha Day after a walk and and a special treat.
This day was only possible thanks to foster Mom Elly Monfett and NEBTR.
Thank you!

Update on Former Foster, Sassy
Dear Elly,
It's hard to believe that Sassy has been with us for 6 months now. She is a
very sweet little girl who loves furry blankets and soft beds. Who doesn't?
At first, she was afraid to even try to go up the stairs to our second
floor. Now she flies up them in order to jump on the bed before we can get
up the stairs. Needless to say, she does try to hog the bed (and the
covers). It took Sassy as long time to learn to walk comfortably outside. She
was so afraid of so many sights and sounds. Sometimes I would have to carry
her back home because she would just freeze. We'll never know what, in her
past, triggered that kind of behavior. Now she looks forward to walks and
tries to herd me to the door to get one. She is wonderful with people but
still very defensive around other dogs. We hope that eventually we can get
her to safely socialize with other dogs but one step at a time. My Mother
and I want to thank you and NEBTR for bringing Sassy into our lives!

Sassy Update
It's hard to believe that we've just had our two week anniversary with Sassy. She feels like she's always been with us. She's decided that she likes to sleep with my Mom and that she's not much of a morning person. I get up at 4:45 and take her out. She flies back up the stairs to crawl back under the covers with my Mom.
She's doing ok with the housetraining. It will take a while with all the changes she's had. We have to get used to her schedule. She's funny because she doesn't usually pee when we go for walks (too many new sights and sounds) but has to come back inside and go right out into her dog run. She did get into a bag with some paperback books and ripped into some of them even though she has lots of toys. She must be a voracious reader. Ha!
As you know, she loves to run and play and have her belly rubbed. We are doing our best to oblige. She has her own blanket o the couch so that she can make her own nest. She is a wild woman when she gets excited. Ha! She found out that our sofa makes a great backboard. She surfed off it like a skateboarder during one play session.
Just wanted you to know that she's doing very well.
Thank you again for bringing us together!
Linda, Helen & Sassy
