Jaime Update

He is the smartest, spunkiest BT I've seen in years and we're SO lucky to have him in our family. Another failed foster....

Meet Up Fundraiser at Pabby's Pet Pantry

Jamie at the Meet Up

WOW! We had 31 Bostons and their people at the SEPA/SNJ Meet Up Give from the Heart fundraiser for NEBTR held on Sunday, February 21 at Pabby's Pet Pantry!! It was so good to see how well NEBTR was represented: Cynthia, Craig, Jessica, Barb, Jeff, The McFaddens..it was a fun day. We got some really nice donations of coats, beds, etc. that will work very well for gift basket auction items and I think we had over $150 in donations. As usual, Cynthia "Martha" M sold a ton of her awesome jelly, lip gloss and sachets.

Pabby's is such a great venue--it's ideal for this. We also have a new potential foster family applying to volunteer!

I have a very tired duo of Cal and Jaime. Jaime should be tired, he must have peed about 20 gallons.....
little stinker!

Jeff--it was great to finally meet you in person. Beth, it was so nice to see you and the sweet little girls again! Jaime was majorly smitten by both Molly and Brynn!

How Joy Wakes Up

At about 4 am, I was woke up by weird noises in my living room (dog-type). I dragged out of bed, went down stairs and found Jaime (BT foster-who was fast asleep under the covers on my bed when I first went to sleep) and Carrie (greyhound) playing tug with a HUGE dog bed!!!! I have to say, it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen!! Of course, that got Paige (greyhound) all fired up, so Paige and Carrie ran the Riley Stakes in the backyard at about 4:30. What a way to *reluctantly* start the day!
Gotta love 'em.

Jaime Helps a Greyhound

I picked up a precious, tiny little girl greyhound to foster on Sunday. She was literally on the track at Ebro in FL on Friday and in my house on Sunday. Jules won't be two until January and she's just tiny--I'm not sure she's 50#. Anyway, she knew NOTHING about a house. She freaked when I turned the TV on and then proceeded to kiss the news people, etc. Anyway, in teaching her about the ways of her new world, I worked with her on the stairs last night. I literally walked her up, then down--one paw at a time. Well, Jaime the BT, was watching the whole process and decided he really needed to help. Little Jaime would stand beside Jules on each step, take a couple up or down, literally stop, and turn around to see if Jules was following him! He was with us through every single trip up and down. It was like he was trying to role model for her!!!!& nbsp; I've never seen anything quite like it!!
I'm so proud of my little man. And, I'm also VERY proud of Beadoe. He has been just wonderful with her and even allows her to put her head on my lap when he's "in charge." Of course, Cal is itching to give her a good BT dental, but she's not very interested. I have no doubt, he'll convince her it's a good deal.

Foster Jaime

Jamie was left in one of the outdoor kennels at the Peaceable Kingdom Shelter in Allentown, PA during the night. The shelter people contacted the NEBTR, who immediately sent him to a foster home. His foster mom, Joy Riley notes, "He's obviously been well cared for, he leash walks like a charm, he rides like a champ in the car, he knows basic commands, he's not shy or skittish in any way. What a nice fellow! He's got a very handsome brown/black coat. In the sun, he looks more brown. In regular light, he looks black. This guy is just a sweetheart!" Joy named him after Jaime Moyer, one of her very favorite Phillies.
