Though it was extremely difficult (for me), Rhubarb (now Henry!) has a spectacular new home with my very dear friend Kathleen Nolan. So far she has told me he is *very* smart and "almost too handsome, like George Clooney." Henry is overjoyed with his fabulous new digs, MANY, MANY, MANY TOYS (Kathleen said he's a playful guy and needs a repetoire) and most important, his very own person that he doesn't have to share with anyone. 

We both wish so much that Lisa Bonchek Adams was here to see this, but I know, like me, she would be over the moon for them both. heart emoticon — with Kathleen Nolan.

 A great big Thank you to Amy Weinstock for all my play things. I especially loves the Lamb Chop Squeaky and the Nyla Bone chew. The Balls are fun too. I am having a great time playing with them and deciding which one to chew on next.

The best time to take pics of this little guy is when he is sleeping. He really loves his Lamb Chop Squeaky because this is the first time since he has been here that he actually took a toy to bed with him. That’s not even his bed (he doesn’t have one yet), he stole my IG’s bed. They share.

Thanks again Amy Weinstock. This is the also the first time he actually wore himself out playing.

Ivy Scheduled for Surgery

Ivy is scheduled for PATELLA SURGERY and SPAY tomorrow. I am sure all will go well, then this spirited little girl can begin happily ever after with the McCormack Family on July 18th. Thank you everyone including the McCormack Family for the donations that made this surgery possible for baby Ivy! I will let you know how she does.

Tucker is Adopted

Well it's official. Tucker is now my Grand-dog. When I was asked to take him, I said to my husband- "there is something about this one that is getting to me". He had us hooked within 24 hours. I am very happy that it's my daughter that is adopting him though. I am getting too old for 3 dogs in the house.

And while I personally don't believe in signs from the grave, my Dad died in March and my family has been waiting for " a sign". As I reviewed Tucker's surrender papers after picking him up, I noticed that he had the same birthday as my dad. Who knows?

Goldie, our little 13 tr old sweetheart, adopted from nebtr in January, loves the sunshine. I love her frog leg pose. She is an absolute gem and has added so much joy to our home. Adopting a senior is the greatest.

Miss Charlie Says Thanks

In Memory of Sara Daisy

 

First, Thank you to everyone who sent Sara goodies in the last few weeks.  She was so excited to get mail. 
It will never cease to amaze me the power and support that NEBTR gives to their volunteers even if it isn't Boston Terrier Related.

Sara Knew that each box was for her.  she couldn't wait for us to open them.  she would do her little dance and whine for her goodies.

The prayer blanket and little pink blanket are awesome.  Sara has snuggled and hid in them every night since she got them.

But, it is with such a heavy heart, and thick tears that I must announce, Sara will be crossing the Bridge today.  She has taken a turn for the worse, and I CANNOT bear to watch her suffer.  She has given me the look of, "IT IS TIME MOMMY"  

I am so heartbroken.  Sara has been one of the most unusual Dachshund I have ever come across.  for the last 13 years she has proven that she can do the biggest jobs, provide the love and care she thought her humans needed, and never left a foster leave this house without knowing that LOVE is the most important thing in this world.

Please keep Sara in your thoughts today as we say our last goodbyes to her.
I have already asked her to give a big lick to MAMI (former Permanent Foster of NEBTR) and to her brother Pugsley  of course I added all the rest that have been through our door and have past.

I am so very sorry for your loss….When Sara crosses the Rainbow Bridge she will pass knowing that she was loved by everyone,especially her Mommy. As the song goes "All you need is love"….as you said she showed everyone 2 legged even 4 legged that love indeed is all we need. 

Sara Daisy…Rest well sweet girl. Run and play…Oh and please give my beloved Cricket a lick (kiss) for me.

Meet Mackenzie

Hi everyone.

I like you to meet Mackenzie.
She is a sweet funny energetic 4 year old tiny girl. She may weights about 14 pounds. She is adorable, loving and kissy.

She came to us because she really really does not get along with small animals and cats. Sadly her family had both. Kenzie has a super high pray drive.

She loves to snuggle, receive belly rubs and yes kill stuffies.

Mackenzie, she is just to freaking cute. She is a sweet little girl. Energy for 15 lol.

All this sweet girl need is to get her spay and some routine care and she will be ready. Don't blink, you will miss her, I don't think she will be around very long. She is a catch!

Wanted to share a quick video of Foster Vegas.

He is our handsome deaf 10 yr. old! (a.k.a. - not really a senior dog - really a puppy in disguise)

He now knows how to sit with a single hand gesture/command & gently take a treat out of your hand.

Hello Everyone!!!

Dottie received her wishlist package yesterday!!  She loves her much needed supplies of her very own collar, Puppia soft harness, Puppia leash, Blue Buffalo treats, two, Benebone bacon flavored wishbones, and two West Paw Zogoflex Dog Bone Chew Toys!!!!  Her favorite is the chew toy from West Paw!!!  She loves carrying around the house in her mouth!!!  Thank you so much for her gifts, Afia Avsar and Snoop!!!    And thank you for supporting NEBTR!!  You are angels!!!
