Obee Thanks Santa

Obee had a ton of fun opening his Secret Santa presents from Carrie Cranmer, BreEnna and Don Balliro and a super-secret Santa who sent an awesome bed for our sweet old man. He can't believe his good luck -- so many great presents!

Obee loves to be cozy, and thinks his two new Zack & Zoey coats are perfect for the too-cold weather we're having.

The toys were a hit -- and now he's lounging in style. Thanks, everyone -- and special thanks to temporary foster mom Laurie for bringing more presents when they arrived at her house after he'd come to us.

Happy New Year --

Obee, Erin & Katie

You would think he was up all night partying. Well, he was not. Lol. He just thinks naps and toys are the worlds best things. Oh yah let's not forget food and treats and cookies and cuddles

Miss Jenna Goes to the Rainbow Bridge

Our sympathy to Elly Monfett and family on their loss of Miss Jenna.  Elly writes, " Jenna was a NEBTR rescue. She made many trips to SUNY Ulster in the past few years as she was so quiet and patient. She allowed all us students practice ultra sounding , TPR's restraint and handling etc. Most of the vet tech program knew her by name and asked about her welfare when she was not there. A Big hole in our hearts and home. RIP Jenna!!"

Thank you Elly, for giving Jenna the best years of her life and for taking such wonderful care of her!

Gus Thanks Santa

Hi.  Gus got his presents and is a very happy pup!!! The Toros are so happy with him and love him very much. Even though he has anxiety issues when gone we are all working on it as a team! But they said he has been the best addition to their family. Gus is going to have a new brother or sister the human kind in two months. Thank you again to his secret Santa!!!!

Pablo's Secret Santa

Pablo says thanks to Debra Costello, his Secret Santa.  We received a total of four boxes, not two, so thanks also to Santas Nicole Pollak and Mickey Lyons.

Thanks to your generosity, Pablo received a much-needed new bed, blankies, squeak toys, tug toys, and bully sticks - all of his favorites!!

I've attached some photos and below are links to some short YouTube videos.

He would not get out of his new bed when we took it out.

We crate him at night or sometimes he gets up in the early morning and does a little tinkle, so we put his bed in the crate for him with his new blankies.  For the first time ever, he has started going into his crate on his own to lay down.
Thank you so much from sweet Senor Pablo and us!

New foster Tigger says Happy New Year!

Tigger was thrilled to receive Secret Santa packages with goodies, and thinks his foster sisters (Dolly pictured on couch) are beautiful.  He is out around our house in our arms or on a leash-he is an exuberant, energetic, crazy happy mess!  His manners are improving daily, and he is a true love bug!  Tigger loves to dish out the kisses.  He is looking forward to a Happy New Year in all ways, and maybe even a furever home!  Wishing all of you wonderful folks & pups a Happy & Healthy New Year!!!  Tigger, Denice & Family, Jackson, NJ

Former Foster George - One Year Later

One year ago today my son and I drove an hour north of home to pick up our foster who we named George since he was located in vet up by Lake George, NY.  Our approximately 12 year old guy came to us heart worm positive and in need of a neuter due to a "squishy" prostate.  George was petrified of everything when we picked him up.  He had definitely been abused and neglected before being dumped.  Luckily the nice people at Schroon River Animal Hospital took him in and cared for him for weeks till NEBTR found out about George.  He made it through heart worm treatment & the neuter and has come so far at home. George now likes to cuddle on the couch with our other three bostons and us.  He runs towards visitors for attention instead of hiding in his crate.  George doesn't do stairs so he barks and does a low growl "talk" at me when I run upstairs to do something.  He is so funny!  George has a very wiggly hind end and wags and wiggles whenever I talk to him.  In spit of his age, George gallops around our fenced backyard like a thoroughbred horse and is always an eager, energetic walker.  We feel blessed to have our sweet, loving boy and we think he is happy to be home.
