Update on Charlie, Erin's Foster, in Her New Home

Um yes I would like to take a moment to update you all on Charlie. Try not to cry. Try it.

Her new mom said this:

Ok thank you for the info. Charlie is doing great and has become a mamas girl already i think. She follows me everywhere lol. We love her already. Went to vets and she did wonderfully. They loved her. She's just a real joy to have. I ordered all her suplements on monday. They should be here tomorrow. Shes eating/drinking and sleeping well. Thought id let you know how she is smile emoticon ~beck~

When I told her I knew immediately it was "meant to be" she said this:

"I felt that way from the very beginning smile emoticon My husband was afraid I'd get too attached and when she leaves us at some point it'll break my heart. Too late. ....I'm already happily attached to Charlie as it should be smile emoticon and when that time comes she will be able to go with love surrounding her. ~beck~"

YEAH. That's why I have a house full of dogs. This is why we rescue. WIN WIN WIN

New Foster Marley

Say hello to our new foster Marley. He was an owner surrender due to a change in living space and a no dogs rule. Marley is a very sweet 2 year old 18 pound neutered male (he'll be 3 in November). He's full of energy and fun. He gets along well with other dogs and just loves kids. I've had Marley for 5 days and he's never had an accident in the house. We are working on fattening him up. He would be a joy to a young active family.  Marley's as cute as can be and full of love.

Gracie Is Coming Out of Her Shell

Gracie has been in my care for about 4 weeks now. She came as a very nervous little lady but her personality is really starting to come out! She just started to want to play with toys. She loves to give kisses, go on walks, and play in the backyard!

Gracie is looking for a home with no young kids and would prefer no dogs. However she would do well with a very patient and submissive other dog.

New Foster Ikey

Ikie joined our home as our 1st foster last week. He is a healthy, 10 year old neutered male with a shiny coat and alert disposition. His owner was an elderly gentleman from Virginia who had him since a puppy and is deceased. He obviously put a lot of time and effort into raising an extremely well behaved and lovable boy.

Over the week we have had him, he has blossomed into a content, peaceful and playful, loving dog.  It is impossible to not love this little dog. Everyone who meets him is smitten.

He only has one eye, as he had a run in with some pine trees in 2014 in the care of his original owner and they had no choice but to remove the other eye. It is stitched up nicely and is not gross in any way - he just always look like he is winking at you. I think it makes him even more precious, as does his habit of sticking his tongue out (see picture).

He is housebroken, really good on a leash, friendly to other dogs and good with kids. He is very playful - he likes to play a lot of fetch in the house and play with his ball and toys. He is very cuddly, likes to sit next to you as he chews on a toy or even takes a snooze. He is a sweet and darling angel. Whoever ends up adopting Ikey is getting a real gem. If we had not already owned 4 of our own, we would keep him in a heartbeat.

We are blessed to have him!

Amazing News- Charlie is Adopted

Hi everyone! AMAZING NEWS! Charlie got adopted! She been here since the first week of February! It took a long time, but we found her the perfect match! Good job team! Her new family has 3 sweet little boston ladies at home, and they will love her for the rest of her days in a great place with 30 acres, no traffic or scary noises! I'm so excited for her. Her new owners are amazing! Yay!

Dooley Goes to the Rainbow Bridge

My sweet Do Butt( Dooley) lost the fight with a bad respitory inf ection last monday morning.He didn't respond to the antibiotics and his little heart just could take any more. My heart is so broken. I was not prepared to lose him so soon. For a dog I only had such a short part of his life, he touched my heart more then any that came before him. I miss him a hundred times a day.

Dooley was my second NEBTR foster. I got a call if I can take him and drove that day to get him. On the way home I called the vet to get him seen. He had such a bad infection in his mouth and was in so much pain. He was seen that day. 

After a few weeks he was ready to find his forever home. Wendy fell in love with him and gave him an amazing home. He was so loved and cared for. 

I'm so heartbroken.  Thank you Wendy and thank you NEBTR for giving Doodle bug a second chance. 

Run free my little bug. There are so many stuffies at the bridge they are all for you. And it is always warm there for your cute little naked old man butt. I love you forever.

New rescue Buster is very content...his belly is full of the best food and he's laying on the couch with my boxer, Jess and former Nebtr rescue, Jax.
