A Gift From Wade

I just received this package from Wade! What a super surprise, he's
such a thoughtful dog.

He knows how much his former foster mom relies on coffee to start her day so he
sent me fancy "Morning Buzz" blend along with goodies to go with it, and
a card too! THANK YOU WADE!

What a good dog! :)

From Wade's Forever Family

He has mended all of our broken hearts. I really can't remember my parents ever laughing this much and it is so nice to see! And the dogs on both sides of us love him as well. We are going to go for some walks with the two dogs (and their owner) to the east of us. The miracle is the dog on the other side. He sees Wade up on the deck and barks hello (with a tail wag)....they like each other.

Wade is Great

Here is a Wade update complete with photos. It's been 1 week since Wade was adopted. The subject title was "Wade is GREAT." I never tire of news from the adopting family, and updates don't get any better than this. :)

Chris Cassner

I haven't taken a ton of photos....I've been spending a lot of time w/ Wade and creating some routines for him.
He was pretty tired this week but he seems to be happy and settling in and making himself at home.  Wade has created a little nest at the food of my bed...he seems happy.
He's also been running around some in the backyard and met one of our neighbor's dogs this morning...it went well.  Tails wagging on both sides of the fence.
He's chased a squirrel in the backyard too....he's FAST!!!
Wade also really likes going out on the deck and just relaxing there....sniffing the air and resting.

Oh, and he did very well while we were at graduation!!!  We didn't want to shut him in a room...and he was really good....he was so happy to see us.
So we are great here!  Thank you again!  He has really good manners and I am training him on the leash but he's quick and smart and well behaved.

Thank you again for bringing him to us!  He is the perfect addition to our family and fits right in.....he's the center of attention for three doting people and handles it well.

Wade looks awesome!!!  Great match!!

Great job, Chris. It sounds like you hit a home run for him.

Wade is Adopted

Wade went home today with the Enders family. A wonderful family with a fenced yard and someone
home all the time. He gets to sleep in a PEOPLE bed now! His new family
bought him all new EVERYTHING! New harness, bowls, toys, leash, bones,
food, treats. Wade will want for nothing, and especially he will never
want for companionship and love.

Wade is gone, he's missed, but he's where he belongs, and it was heart
warming to watch him blend right in with his new family.

"Because I'm Happy"!

Wade is such a happy guy. He's happy when it's time to eat, he's happy
when it's time to go outside, he's happy to go on car rides, he's happy
ALL the time!
Here he is with his happy face sleeping. What's not to love about this
little freckled guy? :)

Wade is a Good Sport - See the Pictures!

Wade was trying on his "Adopt" bandana today. We have hopes of wearing
it to an event or maybe even just on a stroll in Gettysburg this weekend.

And then I found a hat.......Wade is such a good sport! lol

More on Wade

Wade has arrived at his new foster home in the center of apple country in PA. He is eating well, napping, taking walks and is being an all around great guy. He's fitting in very well. He hasn't made mention of that
Louie guy once.

Wade does something that, I must admit was shocking the first time, but I've come to enjoy it now that I know what's coming. He will jump into my lap, put his front paws over each of my shoulders and put his face
directly in mine. It's a HUG! It's an in your face, look at how much I love you, hug! :)

His tail....what a riot that is. It looks like a water valve. It's shaped like an "L" and the bottom part of the "L" wags like crazy when he's happy. I guess it puts me in mind of a windshield wiper on hyper
drive! :)

He might be 10 years old, but I don't think he knows it. He's as active as my 2 and 5 year old dogs.

More Wade updates to follow.

And we're told that if you stand and call him, he will leap right into your arms!

Wade and Louie Part Ways

Wade is all fresh and clean and ready to meet his new foster mama, the fabulous Chris Cassner later today!

Wade and Louie have developed some irreconcilable differences, and have decided it is best they go their separate ways.

It was fun while it lasted, and they shared some tender happy moments: sunbathing, lick fests, tickle fights, but Louie's injury was too much of a strain on them both.

It started with small tiffs brought on by Louie's lack of interest in Wade's toys and chewies, and was fueled by Louie's declining self image following the appearance of his Cone of Shame. His once proud face now hidden behind a plastic veil of sadness and pain. Eventually the fighting got worse and worse, they both said a lot of things they can't take back, and their relationship has gotten to the point where too much resentment has surfaced, and so much trust has been lost that it just can't be fixed. They both knew it couldn't last, they come from two different worlds. Wade is a distinguished retired writer from an old money family, Louie is a retired boxer from the wrong side of the tracks. A tough guy with a heart of gold just waiting for the right one to complete him. They could never make it work.

Louie is going to take some time to heal, work on some relaxation techniques, and hopefully build back up his self esteem once the cone is removed. He plans to start working out and getting back to his healthy routine as soon as he can.

Who knows what the future will hold for them both? I wish Wade all the best in his new accommodations, and in his search for true love.

Wade/Louie

Hi all! We are on our way to Louie's eye appointment with the specialist. Hopefully they can fix him up!

Louie isn't feeling very photogenic lately with his inflatable collar, but Wade spent some time in the sun today and let me take some pictures :)

Erin

What a little cutie! Good luck on your eye appointment Louie!
