More About Gino
My new foster Gino is a beautiful, healthy 1 1/2 yo boxer/terrier mix. Gino is AMAZING with other dogs! He came from a shelter in New Jersey that I volunteer at where he was used as the tester dog to see how other dogs interact. He runs, he fetches, he plays, but if another dog gives him any negative signals, he just looks around for someone else to play with. After a long walk or play session, Gino settles easily and is ready to have some downtime. He's housebroken and stays home alone with no problems. Gino is friendly and affectionate with people he knows, but can be afraid of some strangers. In most cases he warms up within minutes. He's also very fearful of thunderstorms. Gino will be staying with me for a month or so while I work on helping him feel more comfortable in these situations.
Gino is a sweet, fabulous boy! Updates will be coming.

Meet Gino
Gino is a one and a half year old terrier
boxer mix who came into a shelter as a stray, and who found his way to NEBTR. He's a sweet loving playful boy who loves other dogs.

Happy Gotcha Day Jaxx
He's an ornery old man and we adore him, so does his fur sisters, Sadie and Josie. So, in keeping with the summer theme, I attached a "shark" video; yes, there has been a shark sighting at the Kyle house.
(The Jaxx shark is on the left of my husband and Josie is on his right)
Stacie Kyle
I just love Jaxx. Stacie, he may be a little ornery but that's what makes him special. - Bonnie
Waffles Is Adopted
Last night, Ryan and I took Waffles to do a home check on a lovely couple in Pittsburgh. They fell in love with her and she made herself right at home. She sniffed around, and promptly settled into chewing her raw hide on her dog bed! She was our first foster to part with, and we are both very sad to have her go but leaving her with such a loving couple made the transition so much easier. We hope that Waffles has a wonderful long life with John and Monica; and are sure they will spoil her the way she deserves.
It's a sad day for us losing a piece of our family, but a happy one for Waffles!!
Thank you to everyone that helped with the process!

Jill Charles
What a beautiful little boy-thanks for helping him!
New Foster Wilbur
Wilbur is with us now in Elmwood Park, NJ. He is such a sweet boy. I know he has had a long rough day and he is in the kitchen now settling down. Thanks to Tammy, Rachael and of course Jerrilyn for making this happen!
Linda Vermeylen
Thanks so much, Linda, for taking this boy into your home! Wilbur was one of a group of dogs that came into NEBTR in 2007, and known as the "Pennsylvania Pups." He is a litter mate of Joy Riley's Cal. His original adoptive owner was not able to keep him and he is back in the care of NEBTR.
Little Buttons is Adopted
400+ miles and a nine hour round trip, well worth it to do the homecheck and bring Little Butt to her new home, with Dads Robb and Kyle in Ledyard Connecticut. Couldn't find anyone to do the homecheck so we hopped in the car at 6:00 a.m. with all her things to drive to southwest Connecticut. Little Butt knew she was home, jumped out to explore the multiple acre yard and woodlands, then came in the house, had a well deserved drink of water, sniffed her new sister, then proceed to play with her new toys and try out the three different beds she arrived with to decide which one she preferred to accommodate her and her toys. I do not like to drive, but felt so positive about the applicants that I made the trip.
For those who think they cannot foster because it is so difficult to part with them, I can tell you from my own experience that there is much joy in knowing your foster has a new home and family all her own. Numerous good applicants wanted to adopt Little Butt, but the first time I chatted with Robb and Kyle I knew this would be a wonderful home and a great family for her. So I left with much happiness in my heart knowing she arrived at the best possible place, with two people who would love her very much and give her the best life ever.

Tremendous dedication, Jeanne.
Thank you for caring for her and for taking that long but valuable trip.
Hooray for Button! UPDATE:
Little Butt is so happy and content in her new home, settled right in, Robb and Kyle adore her, so excited and happy she's with them. Friday night they went shopping, buying her all the necessities of life and then some, Robb said they had so much fun getting her things, I'm sure she is going to be spoiled as can possibly be, Hooray!
They adore her, say she's such a fun girl. Prefers to sleep in her favorite bed, rather than upstairs with them, but that could change, perhaps she needs the comfort of another dog nearby for now. Saturday afternoon she's going visiting with them to make some new friends. Robb's mother was so excited when she heard that Little Butt joined the family, she might fly up from Florida to meet her. Meanwhile, resident dog Kiki, who would only eat canned food, has now decided that since Little Butt likes Taste of the Wild dry kibble, she does too, competition in the food chain... ;I just love happy endings.
I called the daughter of Little Butt's late owner; she was overjoyed that we found such a perfect home for her and asked that I let them know she would be more than happy to talk with them about any information they might want or need about their girl, Robb said he would call her to let her know she is much loved and happy in her new home and how grateful they were selected as the perfect match.
