Beanie sends a big thank you to Tommy Carpenter for the yummy treats. They taste good and are good for his teeth. He loves his new toy and took it to bed with him.

Progress for Beanie

Not a great picture but shows that progress can be made even if it takes time. Beanie has been with us just over four years. He came to us dog, food, and toy aggressive. He is fine with our pack except when it comes to food. We have been working with him and now I can share this. I dropped a whole dish of dog food and my chow hounds came to clean up. Normally, Beanie(in purple) would be attacking Chelsie so he could get all the food. Pleasant surprise to see lessons have finally sunk in for my hard headed boy. Love my Beanie.

Happy Gotcha Day Beanie

Three years ago today, I helped with a transport for SNORT rescue and when we got back from Syracuse, we went to lollypop farm and I pulled this rascal for what was to be three or four days. Well, three years later he I'd still here. He is my lovable problem child, my early warning system, my crazy Beanie. Happy gotcha day Beanie. We love you.

Goldie and Beanie Enjoy the Sunshine

Hubby and I were working outside putting away furniture etc for winter and these two found a safe spot out of the way to enjoy the sunshine.  These are my two NEBTR babies, Goldie age 13 on left and Beanie age 11 on the right.  Joan Stark

Beanie and Goldie Are Enjoying the Sun

Our two Nebtr former fosters, now forever loved, are enjoying the Florida sun while we are on vacation.  Beanie and Goldie are loving this. Too bad we are headed home next week.

Beanie's favorite pastime while we are here is chasing tennis balls. Nothing stops him, even if it goes into the pool.  He has fallen in twice in pursuit of a ball.

Beanie Says Thanks for the Easter Basket

Beanie received a wonderful Easter basket full of wonderful Poochey chef goodies.  He thanks a very generous Melissa Thorpe for thinking of him. He promises to share some with his siblings. (As long as Mom doles them out).

Beanie's Gifts

Beanie sends a big thank you and a big sloppy Boston kiss to Sara Puskar, Jeffrey Chance, Obee, Oliver and Kingston for his awesome secret Santa gifts.  He modeled the sweater reluctantly as the snow had not started yet, but loves the antler and, as you can see, got so excited BT the toys that he got right in the box! Thank you for thinking of our boy.

Happy birthday to my grumpy old man. Our Beanie is ten years young today. He is not impressed with the hat, but put up with it in order to get a treat. He will get a special super later.

Beanie Averts a Major Disaster

Sometimes there are reasons for a dog to be with you and no one else.  Beanie is a prime example.  A little history for our newer members.  Beanie was given to rescue just before Christmas Eve 2011 due to dog aggression.  Because this is near me and It was so near the Holiday, I agreed to take him for the weekend as I didn't think it would work to have a dog aggressive dog with five Bostons at home. To make a long story shorter, turns out he is not dog aggressive in the home with the pack, only very high anxiety and never socialized. 

Beanie is still very dog aggressive outside the home - that is one reason he is still here.  But he has turned out to be the best alarm system I could ask for.  Early on, my husband had some health issues and Beanie would know this and bark and bark until I cam e and took care of things.  Two weeks ago, he saved us from a major disaster.  He woke me up much earlier than usual by jumping at the bed and woofing at me - not really a bark but more to get my attention.  Thinking he had to potty, I got up and took all dogs out.  As I did I heard water running - a lot of it.  couldn't find it at first, but Beanie kept going to the basement door.  So I went down there and the boiler to the furnace had ruptured and water was pouring out all over the place.  We were able to turn it off and now have a new boiler but Beanie's early warning system save us a major flood.  We still had a mess to clean up but it would have been so much worse. 

Beanie is hypervigilant all the time but it pays off.  He is such a big lug, and knows when I am sad or when my hubby is not feeling well and brings us his toys - all of them.  He has been know to empty the toy box at my feet in order to make me feel better.  Beanie will be with us always, but he obviously earns his keep! lol.

Beanie got another box from a secret santa today. Since it is so close to Christmas, the toys will go in his stocking and the t-shirt will be exchanged for the bigger size. i hope they have the same one a it is so appropriate for him!. i will post a picture later. Thank you Stewart Pierce. I posted a thank you on the Facebook page too.
