Update on Celeste

Update on Celeste to Foster Mom Dawn from Forever Mom Carla:

Hi Dawn,

Just wanted to give you an update on Celeste. We couldn't have a better dog. She has settled in very nicely. She just loves everyone. She does love her walks and comes running when she hears her leash. She is starting to have hips now. Last weight a week ago was 24.2. The Vet would like to see her at about 19 or 20 lbs. She sleeps in her bed in our room at night and waits for George to tuck her in and cover her. It's the cutest thing. She will follow him around and then he tells her to go to bed and she jumps right in. She is such a love and we couldn't be happier with her and her with us (I'm sure).

1000 Blog Posts

This is blog post number 1000!  That's right, we've published 1000 stories about NEBTR and the Bostons we have rescued.  You can see the history of all the posts in the right hand column.  Just click on a name, and you can see all the stories about a particular topic or pup.

There are 571 stories about our fosters and their success stories alone.  So join us in a trip down memory lane and read about all that NEBTR has accomplished over the past several years.

Special thank you to President Sheryl Trent, without whom this would not have been possible!

Mia is Adopted

My sweet little Mia was adopted yesterday by one of our members, April Minech, and her husband.  Mia didn't even make it to petfinder!  They came to meet her and decided she had to be a part of their family, she has joined an older brother.  Mia came to me a nervous girl.  Her owner told me she hates the car, has been scared since she was a puppy.  After 2 wks she was running down to the car and to the door to go in!  My Yogi helped her, she really took to him.  She was such a pleasure to have and we miss her, but I know she has a great home!  April is with several rescues and works at an animal shelter.  This was my first "local" adoption so they were able to come pick her up and she walked right out with them!  April said she is doing good and they love her!   I attached a pic she sent.

Note:  Special thanks and congratulations to Leslie, her wonderful foster mom!

Thanks to Chris Schezzini for another good thought

Elsie

This my elf bug. She was a puppy mill baby from PA. Weight only 1 lb and lived to bark about it. She's only 10 lbs and 8 years old. She's also a CTD. I disturbed her during her morning nap!

Love a Senior

Older NEBTR's and Seniors need ♥ too ! its always easy to place the Pups and young ones, Maybe you are reluctant to adopt a senior dog because you fear that your time with your new best friend will be short, bringing that painful time of loss closer. But the privilege of loving a senior dog makes every single day special, as you and your companion share love, friendship, and a special relationship that grows stronger with the knowledge that you have given this fine old dog a second chance at life. The love that grows from this knowledge is stronger than the pain of eventual separation.

Who's the Boss!

Baby Has a Forever Home

Hello Everyone,

Baby, my 10 year old foster, went to his forever home yesterday with his new best friend Tim Rehwaldt. He will be living in New York City and according to Tim he has already settled in beautifully. It was a pleasure and a privilege to foster him as he is a real gentleman. Thank you to Robin Leone for all her help and support with Baby and thank you to Tim Rehwaldt for willing to adopt and love one of our seniors for the rest of his life. This is a wonderful organization that I am so proud to be a part of. Thank you all.

Wendy Conway

Note: And of course, special thanks and congratulations to Wendy for another job well done! Wendy is truly a special person for caring for Baby and finding him the perfect forever home!

BT Manners

1. What's mine is mine and what's yours is mine too. Especially anything you are eating. "Fast Food" is my fave. Turn away for one second and it's gone.

2. You may still keep your seat at the head of the table. My seat is the one directly beneath any child under the age of five.

3. I am not lazy, I am resting. Playing tug of war with your pizza or jumping five feet in the air for half a corn dog on a stick is hard work. Dog: 3 Owners: 0

4. Doodle bugs are a delicacy and packed with protein. Get over it.

5. All family members must adore me. If someone is getting more attention: I will chew the noses off every stuffed toy in the house.

6. If the family is in the car and you leave me behind: you'll find me at the neighbors pitying me for your maltreatment.

7. Your bed? Get real. If I'm cold, I get the covers and you are the pillow.

8. Finally, I will fiercely love you and protect you to the end. The trade off is you pretend you don't notice every time I pass gas.

P.S. I prefer toilet paper to those nasty chew sticks you give me. Just go check under the couch cushions!
