Update on Maxy

Hi NEBTR!

I instantly fell in love with Maxy when I saw his pictures online… I could not resist the floppy ears and puppy-like face!  Now, it has been almost a year since we traveled from Elizabethtown, PA to Watertown, NY to meet and adpot NEBTR boy Maxy.  He curled up on my lap on the way home and has been a "ladies man" ever since.  Our three year old female boston, Bailey, and Maxy became siblings fairly quickly.  Though definitely an alpha dog, Maxy is simply the sweetest boy.  He snuggles under the covers every night, and yes, is spoiled.  He literally runs to the bedroom at night when he senses that it is bedtime.  His face is so expressive and he makes us laugh!  He has gained ~5 pounds of muscle since we walk 2-3 miles four to five times a week.  He is a solid dog!  He knows the sound of his halter and leash and his excitement level about walks is over the top.  He also loves trips in the car.  In the summer we all spend weekends at our cabin on 23 acres of wooded land.  He loves the opportunity to run.  Our vacation last year was a trip to the Finger Lakes and we learned how much Maxy loves the water.  After I got his vest on he surprised me by jumping right in and swimming away.  Maxy has been a fantastic addition to our family, and we adore him.   I've attached a few pictures from the past year.  Thank you NEBTR!

Foster Bandit and his Foster Sister

Here are some new photos of Bandit & Lola spending some lovey sibling time together. They get along great...

Lola has finally relented to sitting or lying next to Bandit, however, sleeping together is a no go. Mr. Bandito is a fidgety old man who needs to burrow under a sheet and blankie. Lola-the-Princess will not have her precious beauty sleep disrupted. Our Master Bedroom now has two giant dog beds - it's hysterical.

Penguin is a young neutered 2 yr old who has been living in NYC.
Penguin is super cute, super friendly and SUPER energetic!!!

He knows sit and lay down. It takes a lot for him to keep himself calm but he eventually does it for a treat.
He is small (17 lbs), healthy and handsome!  He will need a family that does lots of exercise.
Check out his pics this boy is CUTE!!

New Foster Bruiser - Found His Forever Home Already

When he recently came into NEBTR, it was noted that  " little Bruiser is 1 year old..very sweet but very nervous and shakes : ( He needs consistency and security. He is good with his former owners' dogs and kids."

His name was Bruiser and take a look at his sad little picture! They said he has 1/4 beagle but looks like something else, like a fawn BT. He sure is cute and you can see that Bt snout and he just looked sad when puppies should be happy!  The poor guy had seen too many places in his short life.

He was taken to the home of Maria Pastusz, whose family immediately fell in love with him.  Now he is Gizmo.  Maria wrote, "Gizmo is a keeper!  He is a fast learner. He woke up this morning went tinkle and ran to his giant crate in the living room where he knew he had water, food and a fuzzy blanky. Then he chewed a bone with pnut butter inside and his tail was wagging the entire time. He is grateful and humble and going to be a real star in our lives. Whatever a boglin is beagle/boston we'll love him! God bless and thank all those that made this possible! We can't thank you enough! This group is amazing!"

Now Bruiser, who is now known as Gizmo, will know nothing but love and care for the rest of his days.  Thank you, Maria, for opening your heart and home to him!

Update on Norman

My husband and i became FB friends with a couple who adopted a pup from NEBTR his name is Norman.  Well we finally were able to work out our schedules and we got to meet Kathy, Mike and Norman.  I have to say you guys did an amazing job of finding Norman the perfect home.  Mike and Kathy are amazing with Norman.  He is an adorable tiny little brindle boy.  Such a bright little guy.  I hope all the pups in the rescue can get as amazing parents as Norman did .  They are absolutely the best.

Kathy and Mike are totally devoted to Norm. Even though he has had some bowel issues they are working with their vet and coming up with some good solutions to his health issues.  I really just wanted to share what a tremendous success story this is for Norman.   You guys got him the perfect home and i have to say he looks like a very happy pup...

Thanks for all you do for these guys.. Norm is a testament to all you do for these guys.
Thanks
Loretta Miner

Loretta,

I was Norman's foster and you are right, Mike and Kathy are the perfect home for him.  They were dedicated parents right from the beginning, they drove 5 hours (each way) to pick Norman up, even though I offered to meet part of the way, they did all the driving because they didn't want Norman to be anxious.  He was such a sweetheart that it was really difficult to part with him but I just knew that he would be going to the best home.  And he did!  I feel honored to have been just a small part of Norman finding his perfect home and proud to be part of a rescue that puts the needs of these sweet dogs first.

Update on Rocky the Splash

Hello and happy new year!
Rocky is doing well. He is doing great with house training and has calmed down as you'll see in the pics!  I am very happy with how things are going...I was worried about my Ozzy (BT) accepting a foster, but he's doing great!  And very tolerant of an 11 mo puppy jumping on him while he's sleeping!
Rocky is getting neutered on Monday.  If all goes well he should be in his new home shortly!

Flo Says Hello

Look how great she looks!!

Isn't she a pretty lady?
She takes her daily thyroid meds, which helped cut down her weight.
She eats a raw meat diet with a teaspoon of cod liver oil and vitamins each day and her coat is soooo soft and shiny now!
Her coat was incredibly dull and awful when we got her.
Flo is a real funny lady : )

Happy Gotcha Day Boots

Hello NEBTR,

A year ago today we welcomed Boots into our household and immediately fell in love with his gentle nature, unwavering affection, and goofy playfulness. He is a constant source of joy in our home and we are truly thankful for NEBTR and his foster mom, Jackie Foster, for helping us find such an amazing new member of our family. Since Boots' adoption, he's acclimated wonderfully to his new home in Brooklyn. He loves to visit the park, get in the car and go on trips, or just cuddle up with his parents and watch TV. Attached are a few pictures of Boots from the past year. Thanks again for everything and Happy Holidays!

Member Dog of the Day: Louie and Liam

Louie (on both pics on the left) is 4. He is super smart, sweet, energetic, loving, very mischievous  and yes everything you can think of a Boston boy lol .
Liam, he will be 4 tomorrow, is about the most loving and playful boy i have ever met. He rather sit right next to you and make sure he is being held than anything else, well ok, food is even more important than that to Liam.

My husband Matt and are active people who go hiking, camping etc. The boys on our side. But we don't mind lying around the couch ever so often :)

I'm looking forward working with all of you and helping where we can.
