Molly is Back from the Hospital

Molly is home and I think she got cuter over night. She will not keep that cone of shame on, even the smaller one.

Dawn Stone

Benny says, "Molly, our new foster is doing well. She lets Mom pet her if she sits really still, and will take treats cautiously from her hand. Me, I'm giving her space."

So glad she is home!!  Hopefully she has a speedy recovery and is soon on the road to a new and awesome life...

Indiana Bones Plays Soccer

Northeast Boston Terrier Rescue (NEBTR) foster dog Indiana Bones enjoys the heck out of chasing his soccer ball in the yard! See Northeast Boston Terrier Rescue on FaceBook for more info on rescue efforts or Petfinder for info on Indiana or other foster dogs looking for adoption. NEBTR is an all volunteer organization. Some senior, disabled or seriously ill dogs cannot be adopted out and remain with volunteers as permanent fosters. Help with vet bills is most welcome!

-- Shawna Corsello

I remember the day I helped in transporting him to you. You have done a fantastic job with this sweet boy. He's playing and you can see the happiness on his face. I will never forget his corkscrew tail I'm happy that he's happy once again and will make someone a great companion.

Frank Has A Night Out

The Golden Girls Are Adopted

Today the golden girls got adopted. I didn't think this day would come. It was a happy day and a little sad too. But I'm greatful for Barbara who adopted this two sweet old gals. Good luck ladies, you will always have a place in my heart.

The golden girls are settling in there new home. They are doing well so far. It was a happy and sad day yesterday. My son Alex was very attached to Milly. They were cuddle buddies. He cried which made me cry. Then leaving them with Peter and seeing there little faces looking at me like hey where are you going, totally broke my heart. That part never gets easy. On the other hand I'm so happy they have a home all of their own. I'll be talking with Barbara later this evening. I'll give a up date then. Now I need to focus on Samson. He needs my attention.

Buster Bear Plays "Bang"

I have been working with Buster on BANG your dead. He doesn't stay down long but he has caught on to part of what I want him to do. He just amazes me at how eager he is to learn new things all the time. Maybe I can get Scooby to teach him what I really want after all Scooby is my wonder dog.....I wonder what I did to deserve having him in my life LOL

Jax Video Update

The Jax update.....I am having him vetted this week and will make an appointment to have him "tutored"....wink....wink....It's apparent to me that he was abused. I felt his rib cage and found that one of his lower ribs is sticking up and protruding under his skin. He is not in pain and it is a wound that has healed....nonetheless, he was abused. The breaking of his rib healed, but I'm sure it was painful....it explains his fear of men (Paul in this case, but he is an animal lover). He is opening up to me tremendously, but is so fearful of every move Paul makes...I can't imagine what his life was like, but I am assuring Jax that his life from this day forward will be filled with all good things!! AMEN!

New Fosters Jax and Molly

Two Bostons from a puppy mill recently joined NEBTR.  The boy, who has been named Jax, is in the loving care of Patti M.  She says, "I'm fostering this new handsome boy rescued from the horrors of the puppy mill today. The girl that was also rescued with him had to undergo emergency care due to a prolapsed uterus! She is in great hands now and will no longer suffer this abuse.

The boy is in great shape but is extremely terrified. He's slowly opening up to me...after feeding him some of my homemade chicken soup over some kibble. Yes, it was a bribe, but I did receive a few kisses from him...so worth it!"

The little girl has been named Molly, and Dawn Stone is lovingly caring for her.

Molly was rescued along with the male Boston.  She had a vaginal prolapse that looked really painful.  It was decided that she be taken directly to the emergency animal hospital where she had immediate surgery.  She lost quite a bit of blood and spent the night in the hospitsl on IV's.  She is only 2 years old.  Thanks to everybody who organized and help move her along.   ScottyB, you are going to be a great volunteer.

Her foster brother Benny notes, "Well...Mom went out to bring back a foster brother, but brought back a little girl instead. She had a prolapsed Vagina and had to have surgery immediately. I'll have to give her some time before I can ask her to play. We named her Molly, she came from a puppy mill so she didn't have a name. In this picture she and mom were waiting to see the doctor."

Thank goodness for people like Patti and Dawn who are caring for and loving these sweet souls, and everyone else who helped with the rescue.

Neiko is Adopted

Neiko was just adopted by the most wonderful couple!!! He will have a pug brother and a Boston terrier brother!! The Kmecik's were understanding of his past and willing to work with him...we couldn't have asked for a better home for him. Look how happy he looks with his new family!!!!!!!

Amanda McLean

Amanda, that's wonderful!  Thanks so much for making this happen for him.

Wilbur and Delilah Go to the Pet Store

Wilbur of course was very excited and Miss Delilah did great!  She doesn't shy away from much!  She got a purple harness to match her collar and leash. She was a little tired cause we went on a hike before that.
Wilbur had to stay behind for that. He wants so badly to keep up and does a good job but I don't want him to overdue it.

I think Delilah knows how good she looks in purple!  lol  Wilbur, he's just so darn cute, every photo of him makes me smile.

Thanks for sharing, Leslie!

Adoptable Pup Spotlight! LUCY

Hey there friends! My name is Lucy, and I am not your typical girl! I am 5 years old, up to date on all my shots, spayed and have a zest for life! I am 19 lbs. of muscle and pure athletic prowess. I am a confident girl with alpha tendencies. I have a spirit for adventure and am looking for someone with the same beliefs. I'm a great jumper, so a tall fence would be in order for my forever home. Or just the commitment to leash-walk would keep me happy as I have a compulsion to want to chase small critters - kindly understand it is out of my control.

I am smart, skilled and would love to be your walking partner, perhaps hiking companion/agility partner. I love balls too!

I also have a soft side for snuggling at the end of the day or watching a great movie with you.

I may be somewhat independent but still want to be your special girl.

I hope you think I am special too. I have been waiting to start my adventure with you. Shall I pack my bags?

xoxo,
Miss Lucy

Skittles looking good!

New Foster Sammy

My husband and I went up to Effort PA to pick up our first foster, Sammy, last Wednesday.  This is one of the sweetest little gentlemen that I have ever met. He did  display a little fear aggression when we picked him up, but we sat with the owner until she relaxed, then he did, and the next morning, he was a new man.  He is incredibly eager to please, and just wants to be in our laps whenever possible. He is walking well on the leash and only a few minor potty accidents so far that were more about marking than needing to go.

After the first few nights I decided to give him a break from crating and that seems to have him eating well again, but I will work on reintroducing the crate as a positive experience.  We will watch and see how he is when new introductions are made (we have a senior Boston girl and cats) but so far, he is just a great and wonderful little dog and has shown only friendly curiosity towards the other side of the door.

Best, Michelle Rollman

Thanks for taking in the gorgeous boy!! I am sure with all the love he will get from your family, he will slowly start to come out of his shell. so excited to hear about his progress!!
