Oreo is Adopted

Oreo is a 2 year old cutie who came into NEBTR when his elderly owner became ill and could no longer care for him. Once he was neutered, he was all set to go. His stitches came out on Friday and Saturday, he was settling in to his forever home. We miss him but are confident that he will be very happy with his new sister, Mami.

For the Love of Bostons Auction

This beautiful quilt, measuring 116 x 138 was handmade by NEBTR member Mary Thomas.  She has lovingly donated it for the auction to be held by For The Love Of Bostons  on their FB page.

They are looking for donations and you can upload photos and a description, along with where you are willing to ship to on their page.  BUT we have to wait until the current auction is over before we can post our items.
You will have to "join" the fb page in order to view and upload stuff.  Here is the link.  It's run by some wonderful women that do this on a regular basis.  :)

Big News for Scout

Big news for a little dog. Scout's splint was slipping down, so I
called the vet to say it was slipping, and they told me to bring him in
right way today. Since he was scheduled for x-rays tomorrow, they did
them today instead. It was a scary wait in the examining room while
Scout was getting his leg x-rayed. The vet came back and told me that
there had been significant healing since they took the first x-ray, and
he should be able to heal the rest of the way without a splint. No
running, jumping, stairs, or rough dog play yet.
His joints and tendons have not been used in a very long time. He's
limping on it most of the time (we've only been back for an hour), but
when he does put his weight on it, that kink that was there, where the
break was, is gone. Prognosis is after 3 weeks he will be fit as a
fiddle, and he will FINALLY get to play with the other dogs in his
foster home!

I'll attach some before and after photos here. His leg has some ouchies
where the tape was removed, but that will heal up in no time. :)
I had him titered and checked for hw today while we were there.

Gizmolito Goes to the Vet

Foster Gizmolito/Gizmo visited the vet today, first time since he was altered as a puppy.  He had a great time, visiting the staff, greeting other dogs, kissing the vet.  He is in good health, except for inflammation in the folds on his mug. Rather than give him antibiotics, we are using antibiotic wipes to see if this will clear the redness and irritation.

Attached are pictures of Gizmolito with me gorgeous redhead Abigail.

Cooper Goes to the Rainbow Bridge

I wanted to inform you that our beloved dog, Cooper, who we adopted from you died on 2/18/16. He had a tumor on his pituitary gland that hemorrhaged and we did all we could to try to save him. He was being treated for Cushing's disease prior to this event. We had adopted him from Carolyn McCarthy in NJ on 1/22/12 and he instantly became a vital part of our family. We have many loving & hilarious memories of our Cooper and he was loved throughout our neighborhood too, as one of his favorite things to do was visit people on their porch. Th ank you for allowing us to have him in our lives and all that you do. We only wish we could have had him longer. His buddy, Frankie, also adopted from you (Robin Leone)- on 10/27/13 truly misses him and our 18-month old daughter still asks for "Coopah." We are heartbroken.
Here are a couple pictures of Cooper. He was 10 years old. The last one is a painting done by Brian Rubenacker for us. Please feel free to share with the group. Thank you again for bringing this beautiful soul into our lives.
