Miss Milly

This poor old gal is hanging in there. Her rear legs don't always work but she seems happy.

Jill Charles

Aww, she looks very fancy with her pretty flower.  She's adorable.

New Foster Max

I wanted to send out a little update on Max.  He has been with us now since Thursday and is doing very well.  He has been introduced to our resident dogs and they are getting along pretty well.  My older girls don't have much to do with him.  They just want to be left alone but my BT, Snorky loves having a new playmate.  He and Max play tug of war and chase each other around.  They have become best buddies.

Robin Carroll

He's a gorgeous boy!  Best of luck with him, and thank you for taking him in!

Update on Tinsel, Now Dolly

Tinsel, now known as Dolly, sent in photos. She is still working on
getting that eye better,  but beyond that she has settled into her forever home just like the
loving dog we all know her to be.

She goes to work with her forever mom and then hangs with her forever
dad on the sofa. Great life, huh? :)

Loooooove this :)

Molly Gets a Gift From the Easter Bunny

)

Today Molly received a gift from her Easter Bunny and she is so excited!!! This old girl doesn't always have a lot spunk but good lord this really tapped into what call her inner spunky monkey. She was having a blast opening everything up. A hear that the Easter Bunny had some help from Christine Manzella and Christine Schezzini. I can't thank you guys enough. We love seeing her go to town. You guys are the best!!!

She absolutely loved it. I haven't seen her this spunky in a long time.

Thanks so much Christine, she is sitting here gnawing away. You rock!!!!

Here's a video, I was trying so hard not to laugh.

Member Dog of the Day - Skeeter

I was looking at the animals listed in the paper when I saw an ad looking for a home for a boston terrier.  She'd gotten the dog for her autistic daughter, who already had 2 other dogs (one of which was a boston), and her husband was "allergic" to this one.  I wrote her immediately and told her I could come get him right then.  Thankfully she took me up on my offer.  I pulled into the parking lot and she was waiting for me.  It was love at first sight !! Skeeter (Sketcher then) was all wiggles and excitement.  He has been the BEST dog ever and a GREAT foster brother for those coming through.

Happy Second Gotcha Day Sassy

,

Dear EllyMonfett,

It's Sassy's Second Gotcha Day! It's so hard to believe it's been two years.
She is such a big part of our family. She is a wonderful little girl who
has really come into her own. Thank you and everyone at NEBTR so much for
bringing us together.

Sincerely,
Linda Wichlac

Thanks Elly, it's so great to hear how much our dogs are loved.

New Foster Wrigley

Our boy is so good and sweet.  Yesterday was our first full day with him.  He is completely housebroken, eating and drinking avidly (he's so thin).  He seeks company, and doesn't care for being alone in the kitchen area.  I think with the neutering and hormone changes, he'll be a delight with my other doggies.

He doesn't really know how to play, so I am working to engage him in fun and silliness.  Wrigley deserves to enjoy these two basic components of being a Boston-play and affection.  I hope he'll blossom to enjoy all the daily pleasures of life.  He is an awesome gentle, adorable, sweet spirit.

Denice

He's so lucky to have you!

Buddy does good at the vet

Buddy went to the vet today & was a complete gentleman.  He is in great health,  HW negative & is only stage 1 with his luxating patellas.

What a handsome boy!  It makes life so much easier when they are good at the Vet! Great news! My Howie has the same problem. I give him a glucosamine/chondrotin/MSM supplement which seems to help a lot.  Thanks for taking care of him!

Pawsabilities

Thanks to everyone who made this a spectacular event!  Here are some photos:

Some pictures from our booth at Pawsabilities. Our dog Lil Pumpkin loved greeting everyone who came to visit with a little happy dance and some kisses!!  And Melissa foster dog buddy was a little lover!  =)  I'm surprised my husband didn't steal him.  Lol ;)

Erin Fay, our group organizer, notes, "You can see that Buster (Gale's foster) was the star of the table! It was definitely a success!  We had a lot of people interested in volunteering and fostering.  There were tons of dogs there.  It was a lot of fun.  Thank you for everyone who volunteered their time!

I highly recommend the book "Until Tuesday" to everyone.  The author was there and he spoke for an hour and then signed books.  The author is a war veteran who suffers from post traumatic stress disorder. He was given a service dog. The book is about his experiences and relationship with his service dog.  The book is so much more than a book about a dog and the impact the service dog had on his life. It is about government, war, discrimination, service dogs... and so much more.

Here is the link to the book with Amazon Smile: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008PICH78/ref=s9_simh_gw_p14_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1ZESV3F9P40CY6Y5YQRV&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200382&pf_rd_i=507846 "

Erin, great job organizing this event!!
The table looked great and I am so happy so many of our volunteers were able to make it!
Thank you very much!

New Foster Bullseye

Thanks to Craig and Cynthia Musselman for opening their heart and home to this boy!

Happy UnBirthday Jaxx

Hi;
Although embarrassed, I'm going to fess up. I was so excited for February to come because I wanted to make a cake and have a birthday party for former foster Jaxx, who we adopted last August.
When I went into his papers to find out the exact day, well, lets just say I missed it by 6 months - his birthday was actually the month after I adopted him in October!
Sending a pic - he wanted to wear his hat upside down because it took me 6 months to figure this out....LOL  He's 10 1/2 years young!
On a positive note, this little boy has awesome skin and a full body of hair (we found out he had a dormant skin disease that flared up and is now fixed), he still tries to make you think he'll bite you, but we found out that is just a coping mechanism for stress - and the biggest news.....he gives kisses to his mom. He is a great dog and Thank You to NEBTR for giving me the opporuntiy to add another BT bug into my home.
( he also now snug gles with sister Sadie - he used to walk away but her persistence won)

Stacie Kyle

What a great picture, Stacie.  I'm sure he'll be happy to celebrate again in November:)
