Skittles Loves Her Easter Bowl - Thanks Jennifer

Skittles (and I and Panda) had a sweet surprise the other day. I got home and found a package addressed to Skittles on my porch. I brought the box inside and (after the dogs had a run outside) Skittles and Panda stood attentively right beside me eagerly waiting as I unwrapped the box.

Skittles loved her the adorable pastel blue Easter Bowl overflowing with wonderfully decorated, handmade dog treats! She scooted the bowl along the floor to check it out. Panda was right behind her and managed to snag the plastic Easter egg filled with treats and run off with it--He grudgingly gave it back to her though.

I finally thought to get some pix tonight. Photos below (hope they show up) are a bit blurry as Skittles was constantly moving (and I don't have a flash on my small camera). The first one shows her checking out her bowl and scooting it along the floor. In the second shows she's pulled the stick treat out for her after dinner dessert (she allowed Panda to have one too!). As she's had a tough go of it lately, she's only allowed to have a couple of treats at a time--so they will last a little while.

What a yummy, thoughtful, and uplifting gift for little Skittles! Thank you so much, Jennifer French!!!

Coco Says Thanks for the Gifts

Foster Coco loves receiving gifts from the wonderful volunteers of NEBTR! She loves them all and thanks you for the treats, new harness, and delicious Easter basket by Poochey Chef from Jeffrey Chance!! Now she just needs to make some friends to share her treats! ;)

She is really hoping the weather warms up! Coco gets very cold outside. Since winter is over, it was difficult finding a jacket for her. So she now has a bunny suit to keep her warm!! :)

Happy Easter!!

Princess Lea in Her New Home

I can not beleive it has been 3 weeks since Lea found her forever home! I got an update today and she is loving life. Lea is now sitting and giving paw for treats!!! You can also tell from the pictures how much she loves her bother, Dante!!! They are starting a training class on Monday too!!!

Katelyn

Great pictures! It's got to feel good to see a rescued BT in such bliss with their forever family!  Makes it all worth it!  Thank you for finding this home for her!
Princess looks soooooooo happy!!!

Coco Goes to the Vet

Coco went to the vet Thursday and had a very good check-up by Dr. Ferrari at Lehigh Valley Animal Hospital. Dr. Ferrari has two Bostons of his own so I was very happy to have him look at her. She was very alert and aggressive towards the other dogs in the waiting room, but nothing uncontrollable. Hopefully, we'll get to work on that!

He gave her a wellness checkup and came back with a clean bill of health! Coco is currently 15.6lbs and Dr. Ferrari said she is at a good weight. She has no eye, ear, hip, knee or teeth issues. She does not have a fever - which is a good sign for her kennel cough. Her kennel cough is still mild and mainly aggravated when going outside. We just finished the antibiotics from Brooklyn ACC so hopefully her symptoms will subside.

However Dr. Ferrari did notice 2 nodules in her mammary glands, which he recommend getting removed. Has anyone else experienced this with their BTs? He'll be giving me a quote for her spay and removal of the nodules on Monday.

Mandy is Adopted

Hi Everybody,

After a long journey this morning from 6am to 10:15am, I picked up Mandy and took her to met Erin Miller (her new mom) in Beverley NJ.

I rapidly grew fond of Mandy and considered taking a detour back to my home so I could keep her myself. She greeted me and my boyfriend Ken with several kisses and a ton of personal items to take to the new home.

I placed Mandy is the back seat and while pulling out of the parking lot she decided to be a front seat passenger rather than sit alone in the back. She sat on Ken's lap for the entire trip either looking out at the NJ scenery or napping. She is so great inside a car and you barely notice she's even there.

Erin was excited to meet Mandy a week earlier than scheduled and also got several kisses from Mandy. Given the bad weather and Erin's long trip back home to NH, we only spent around 5minutes together. I am confident that Erin will spoil Mandy and enjoy her new furry friend.

Melissa S.

Oh thank you so much Melissa!! Isn't she the sweetest?! I miss her already :(

Leslie

Leslie,  thank you so much for all you did for Mandy and for finding her the perfect forever home!  You were amazing, and truly worked wonders with her!

Tuna Living the Life

Katherine DeCotiis:

When we got married, we registered for this very fancy stuffed beanbag from Pottery Barn. Our 8-year-old BT Tuna quickly claimed it as his lounge spot. Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is relaxing!

Sasha Update

It's been a week now that sweet Sasha went to her furever home and she seems to be happy.
I had a few pics and an update today I like to share. I sure miss the happy feet.

Conny McGraw

Hi Conny- She's settling in really well! She has claimed her spot in our bed every night, tunneled under the covers :) She always wants to be near us and loves to cuddle. She enjoys walks around our neighborhood. Today she met my in-law's dog and gave the 110 lb lab a workout as they played chase through the house- Sasha is quick on her feet! She has exceeded our expectations and such a sweet girl!

Looking for Someone to Adopt Tessie

Tessie had one owner her entire life, she has been loved and cared for. Her owner began a family and Tessie did not like taking a back seat to a baby. Also the owner must care for a loved one and could no longer give Tessie the attention she requires. Tessie just turned 7 this month, she thinks she is 2. She is a spunky, spirited girl that expects fetch regularly. She is not boring, she talks and tends to be quite expressive. She is a fun loving girl! She’s not fond of other dogs but she loves people, children and cats! She could learn to live with another very passive dog. It would be a lengthy adjustment period. This is a strong alpha female, to know Tessie is to love Tessie her personality lights up the world! If there is any interest please call Maria Foster Mom at 860-306-6075.

Look at Indigo Now!

Just a short note to say hi and let everyone know that Indigo is doing amazing. You would never know this little boy recently survived Distemper! Two months ago he couldn't even climb three steps, now I can't keep him still! He runs laps around the yard and leaps off the deck chasing his foster brother and sister. Everyday I'm in awe over this. He is a true little miracle. He had his neuter yesterday. He was in a lot of pain but today he is back to normal! The pictures are from this afternoon. He is almost ready for adoption and I don't know how I'm going to let him go!

Ryder Says Thanks for the Easter Treats

Ryder loves his Easter basket & treats! Many thanks to Katie & Erin (& friends) for this special treat!

The box arrived just before his adoption day so I saved it so his new family could unwrap it with him & as you can see, it was a hit! I received a note tonight from Jesse and Ryder seems to be adjusting nicely to the Shrader family routine. They are working through some new house adjustments as far as potty training and interacting with their dog...but that is typical. Oh, and he's finally learned the "sit" command. He has made great progress over the past week in Delaware...and over the past few months overall! Yeah Ryder!!

Scooby is Settling In

He was nervous as to be expected with yet another new home. He snuggled under the blanket on the couch with me while I watched tv. He had no accidents last night but cried when I went to bed. I took his bed in my bedroom and he was content but a little later he was on my bed sneaking under the covers with me!!! So we both got a good nights sleep He is still sneezing but I want to wait a little while to see if the meds do their job. I liked the name Scooby so Scooby it is!!!  Thanks to Chris and family for suggesting it!

Nala Thanks Easter Bunny Jayson

Little Princess Nala got her Easter Basket today. She promptly demanded to try a treat and enjoyed her dinner in the new doggie bowl :-)

Thank you to Jayson Chrzanowski for being her Easter Bunny.
~Kristy

Here is Sophie getting comfortable in my husband's chair.  She also says thank you for the fun packages she received!

Sophie has been an absolute delight! She was very, very shy and timid the first couple days, but by the weekend, she came out of her shell! She is lively and funny and very sweet. She is a very good cuddler. We have a 3 y.o. cavachon in our home also, and they are getting along very nicely. Truly, we could not have asked for a better, more positive first experience with a foster.  She doesn't have that frightened look in her eyes anymore. Again, she is such a sweet girl!

Abby Jolley

Welcome to NEBTR, Sophie, and thanks Abby for helping this beautiful girl!

Wade is Feeling Better and Says Thanks for His New Manwear

Well, Wade is back and feeling better than ever! I think having those teeth out has him already feeling waaaay better than he probably has in years.

Which is great!

Unless your happen to be my house. He broke out of his crate somehow today (it was still closed), and took a tour of destruction starting in my living room. He pretended he was a mountain goat, leapt up on every oiece of furniture, cascading files and projects everywhere. After that got boring, he knocked over the gate and went up the front steps, somehow managing to open a door, and raided my lingerie and took a nap (going from the evidence). Feeling revived, He then decided to go down the back stair case (for the maid. Obviously), knocked down that gate, and celebrated his completed tour by knocking over first the garbage to fill his belly with coffee grounds, and then the recycling bin to wash them down with some craft beer remnants from Free Will Brewery. I know what youre thinking. That guy has excellent taste. You are correct!

This took up most of the day, I assume. He then wauted by the door for my husband to arrive to witness his display of creativity and sense of adventure.

Yes, my poor husband dutifully cleaned it all up. I heard this story on my way home.

Wade is a wonderful dog. Just about perfect, really. But he does NOT like to be alone. We already use a pheremone spray,  give him treats and toys in his crate, and he is borrowing a Thundershirt to help with his lonely anxieties.  Wade does have a long Frankenatein like line of sutures down his neck, and was neutered just 2 days ago. So we REALLY need him to be calm. And stationary. And stay out of my unmentionables.

Good news! Wade got some of his own underthings today! Doesn't he look distinguished in his fanciest of fancy underpants? I think so. He is such a good boy :) some nice supporter bought him a 4 pack of these very stylish manderwears to curb his indoor sprinkles! We LOVE them! And he does not feel silly at all now :) he is a proud old man, you know!

For an old dude, he got a lot done today.

That was very funny from where I'm sitting, Erin.  I hope your husband has a sense of humor😂. I'm so glad Wade is feeling better and sounds like he feels quite at home.

Boy, he sure is a cutie, adventurous, but cute. That was very funny to read!
