Happy Second Gotcha Day, Lenny

July 17th wass Lenny's gotcha day.

It's hard to believe it's been two years. He definitely a member of the family.

Attached is a short write up we put together. It also contains some pictures of Lenny with his friends.

Also attached are some solo shots our son (the photographer) took of him.

Thanks for bringing Lenny to us.

George, Carole and Lenny.

As we celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Lenny’s Gotcha Day, it seems like yesterday that we went to Carolyn’s Camp Canine to pick him up. Lenny had major social issues when he was surrendered and was hesitant with us at first. He immediately fit into our hearts and home but was not fond of strangers, neighbors, and other dogs.

By last year’s Gotcha Day, Lenny had a BFF, Tucker (a Shiatsu who lives next door) and a few neighbors. Now Tucker sneaks over to our house, Lenny greets him at the door, Tucker comes in and they both run to the back door so they can play in the backyard. Lenny also goes to Tucker’s house for nightly play date with Tucker and his new sister Chloe (a rescue Shiatsu) and Lenny is friends with many neighbors.

Taking Lenny for a walk initially was a challenge, to say the least, as his fearful aggressions showed with every passerby. It took a while but now we enjoy our walks as Lenny strolls right by strangers and he has many “friends” that wave, beep, or say hello every day.

We have found that hiding under Lenny’s aggression is a big scaredy-cat and mixed with that is one wonderful loving mush. It does take time, patience, and love but helping Lenny work through his issues and seeing him happy and content was so worth it.
