Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let everyone know that we picked up Sara from NYC-ACC and Bill gave her a much needed bath right away. I just fed her, she ate and drank, and is now happily chewing on a large rawhide!
She is very sweet, has a good energy level, and walks nicely.
Maybe it's a good thing this owner turned her in - she seems very happy to be with us and also should have had some medical attention a while ago.
The owner said she has allergies but there were no specifics. The owner said she was eight, and she acts like she might be eight, but looks older. She has a large lump on her lower left front leg, something on her back leg, but walks fine. There is something wrong around her back end, it seems enlarged and bulges even when she pees. They noted a possible abscess, but I'm not sure what it is. Her front teeth are horrible, although the side teeth don't seem so bad. Since she's gnawing away on the rawhide, I'm hoping that might start removing some of the tartar buildup.
She is unspayed and has had at least one litter of puppies.
I've already made an appointment for her to see the vet this Friday, so hopefully we'll know more about her condition then.
