Salmon Dog Treats
How to Make Dr. Ward's Salmon Dog Treats
What You'll Need:
1 7-ounce can of salmon
1/2 cup oat or quinoa flour
1 tablespoon minced parsley
1. Preheat oven to 350 F. In a medium-size bowl, mix everything until well blended.
2. Roll the mixture into 1/2-inch balls and place on a nonstick cooking sheet.
3. Bake 12-15 minutes.
(Yield: 36 treats at 10 calories each)
Note: While the recipe calls for baking for as long as 15 minutes, Deborah recommends baking them for as long as 40 minutes instead. This "makes them extra crispy, and I think that extends their shelf life," she says.
Ward also has this footnote on the recipe: If you don't have oat flour, blend dry oats in a food processor. Substitute quinoa or amaranth if oats aren't available.
