NEBTR at PetAPalooza

GOING ON RIGHT NOW!MEET NEBTRPetAPalooza today! From 10-3 in Ballston Spa NY at Curtis Lumber

Cynthia Kaiser did a terrific job creating raffle baskets to raise funds for NEBTR, the main source of the money NEBTR raised.  And a lot of people stopped by our booth to view the tri-fold poster, featuring our current fosters, that Cynthia made.  A woman who works in the charitable branch from a major company says her company makes a donation to all rescue participants so we may be receiving a donation from them; due to the barking, could not hear the name of the company.

Strausie Stephens' two fur kids attracted a lot of attention, as did Little Butt, with her red sock.  And Strausie generously gave Little Butt an orthopedic dog bed, which she hasn't left except to eat.
Great opportunity for outreach!  A couple stopped by hoping to meet Winston and Daisy because they want to adopt them, a number of people asked about adoption and took brochures, we may have some new volunteers, and some int erest was generated for Little Butt, the bright red sock over the bandages drew a lot of people.

Surprised that the home-made organic dog treats did not sell well; next year  we'll make less, and Strausie is going to learn how to make braided dog pull toys.  We have a year to plan.
Benson's Pet Center, a locally owned company specializing in healthy pet food, donated a whole truck full of quality food: at the end of the day, they give away the rest to the rescues that participate in PetAPalooza.
Fortunately for all of us, the cats were kept in Curtis Lumber's main store, while we were outside under tents to keep the dogs cools. Curtis Lumber started and pays for this event every year, the owners are animal rescuers, and it is so well organized, with volunteers helping us unload and carry our things to our assigned table, saving a lot of effort.

A terrific day and a lot of fun!
