Thanks to Nylabone

Special thanks to Nylabone for the FANTASTIC donation to NEBTR of their products.

We are blessed that Nylabone donates to rescues and shelters, and since their plant is getting ready for some work, my friend was able to provide these amazing donations to our rescue organization!!!!!  This picture shows only 1-1/2 of the 6 cases I was able to pick up!!!

New Foster Roxy

Hi everyone;

Meet Roxy - she is an owner surrender puppy (3 months old) from Toms River NJ I picked up on Saturday. The owner only had her a week, but she proved to be too much puppy for a retired woman who already had a 4 yr old BT.  She is a bouncy one!

-- Stacie

Thanks so much for being there, Stacie, to help rescue this beautiful girl!

Welcome McCoy from the Bronx

Hi all! After a very long day and many many helpers, I came home to meet McCoy! He is a young boy sprung from the dreaded Manhattan ACC kill list by Julie Klam, and is SUPER PUMPED to be alive.

Above is a FREEDOM RIDE pic.

He is BOUNCY! He doesn't know a single command, and is constantly in motion! What a happy guy! He can see my dogs through the kitchen's french doors, and is play bowing and looking to romp around with them already. I don't think he has ever seen a cat before, he looked very curious and surprised, and followed my Otis Chubby kitty belly all over in an excited fashion, but was non agressive towards him. We went for a walk together,  and Rock has no leash manners at all. Honestly I don't know if he has ever been for a walk lol he was a bit better by the end of our trip around the block, and we will just have to keep working at it! He ate dinner, has had a nap, and appears to be accustomed to being in a crate. He has a very small sad cry that doesn't seem to match his face lol

Thank you to all the people who worked to free him from the shelter!

Julie writes,
"YAY ERIN! I thought he was absolutely adorable for the couple of hours I was with him - by the way -he was found as a stray in the Bronx so he might bark with a NY accent. :)
Keep us posted!"
Julie Klam

McCoy slept all night soundly in his crate. Not one peep! I slept from 1:30 am to 10 am and he was totally fine with that. When I came down to get him, he rolled over submissively, but I opened the crate,  he first came creeping out, but then exploded into a happy puppy mode lol no accidents overnight, no problems at all. He is completely bonkers like a 6 month old, but learning the ropes. My husband took him for a walk, and he was MUCH BETTER than yesterday. He hasn't even marked anything! (THATS a nice change lol) He does know what toys are, and very quickly picked his favorites from the bin, flipping them into the air and bounding around like a furry tornado. Other than his extreme energy level, What a good boy. With training, he will be awesome!

Here are some pictures of this silly guy! We are working on jumping and mouthing. McCoy is enjoying the Pennsylvania mountain weather while my husband and I are working on our outdoor cat enclosure. He is super silly. I can't look at him without laughing at the underbite!

Thank you Erin for taking him and for certainly saving his life. He has a new lease on life thanks to NEBTR  and Erin! He's the Real McCoy!He sounds like he will be a total joy for someone with the time and energy to train him.

Hamilton Says Hello

I just got a photo of Hammi today. He's enjoying the beautiful weather
in Ocean City, New Jersey with his forever family.
He looks very happy, and he should be! They just had him to the vet for
his yearly check-up and titer test. He's in A1 shape and his family
loves him.
:)
Good Dog!

Coco - Feel Better Soon!

I picked up Coco from her spay on Friday night. It was one of the hardest things to watch :(  My poor girl couldn't stop shaking, could barely stand, and definitely couldn't walk. I felt so bad for her. All she wanted to do was lay and snuggle next to me.
After the night passed she was starting to get some of her strength back. Was able to drink, eat, and even go potty when carried outside! Thank God, because I was really worried!
Now Coco is about 70% back to normal and keeps looking at herself wondering what on earth is on her neck! Wishing for a healthy recovery for Coco!

Sounds like anesthesia took her for a real loop!
So glad with TLC she is bouncing back!
Thanks for sharing LOVE!

Max Day 2

Good morning all!! here is another update on my new foster boy Max!! He is doing FANTASTIC!! He gets along with everything and everyone!! So easy going and funny!! He loves to play fetch!! AND CATCH!! He hardly ever misses a throw in the air!! He cant get enough of it! Inside, outside it doesnt matter! He eats well, and very alert and active. He knows his name and comes when you call him. He knows sit, paw, other paw, and 'go around. ( i am teaching him that!!) thats when he goes around in a circle to get a treat! lol.  He sleeps well and thru the night. not a peep out of him. He goes into his crate (with his tennis ball in tow) and lays down and goes to sleep. He doesnt seem like he is much of a lap dog, or couch potato. He is a great watch dog as we have lots of dogs in the neighborhood and he likes to communicate with them. not often. just when daisy (my beagle) starts to bark at something she hears, he will bark also. Today will be his first test, we will leave him alone while we all go to church, about 2 hours. I will block him in the kitchen and listen to see if he barks or cries when we leave.

He did GREAT at the groomers yesterday, they said he was very sweet. He wasnt crazy about the bath but he tolerated it without issues. Ears were pretty clean, and he did need his nailed clipped. Had a VERY scary incident happen as we were leaving the groomers. As we walked out the door, there was a young girl walking a VERY BIG dog, (too big for her to handle in my opinion!), well I had just shut the door behind me and I turn around and there this dog is sniffing Max, I held onto Max very close to me and tightly...as the girl tried to pull this big dog back but was no match, but the big dog started to growl a bit and then Max started to growl and it could have been very ugly if I didnt swoop Max up and the Dad following behind to the leash from the girl and pull the dog back. OH BOY!! was I scared! I just think Max reacted normally and doesnt have any dog agression issues, he has not even blinked at my brew...so i just need to beware of big dogs that would like to eat Max as a snack!!

He takes nice naps during the day. I really have nothing bad to say about him. You would never know he was going to be 11 in July...!! He would be a great fit in any family with kids young and old, cats, dogs, doesnt matter. loves when my hubby plays with him. I will be calling the vet tomorrow morning to schedule his appt. I did find something that concerns me though while petting him, on his right side, lower rib area, I found a small, grape size mass that moves around. I will have the vet check it and hope its nothing serious. Will keep everyone updated of anything new. I post alot of pics on my FB page and videos too..so if you want to check him out you can friend me on FB if you havent already. Christine Sutton Manzella and Max is my current FB profile pic.

I would like to get him a few things from amazon, so i would like to set up a wish list for him. I forgot how to do it. So can someone help? thanks and Have a great day everyone!!

Max Likes to Play Ball

New Foster Max

Hi all,
just wanted to send out a short email letting everyone know how Max is doing so far. You would never guess he is almost 11 years old! He loves to fetch and brings the ball right back to your feet!! Saying "here you go now throw it again please!!" He didn't even blink at my resident dogs or cat so i felt it was fine letting them co mingle out side and then in the house. He ate his dinner just fine. he has already peed (several times) outside and pooped too!

I gave him about a 1/4 cup of yogurt with Marty and Daisy and they all ate it right up. He loved it! He is a good watch dog!. when ever he hears a knock or car door shut outside he will bark. He finally settled down in his crate( which he went in without being asked), at 10 pm. He must be exhausted from the long day. I am hoping he sleeps through the night as i am exhausted too! I have attached some pics and video i shot of him playing today.. He goes to the groomer tomorrow at noon for a bath. (she does all my fosters for FREE!)

I will let him settle in a few more days and get to know him better and call to make appt at the vet for his check up. More on that next week. Well i am gonna try and get some shut eye. Good night everyone!!
