Update on Gator

Gator was originally placed with an All Breed Rescue- his Owners were a Military Family being transferred overseas and they could not take him - Gator was only 10 months old and had a special challenge - he is deaf. NEBTR was contacted to take Gator and he was placed in a foster home familiar with deaf dogs - he happily learned sign language and loved being able to finally communicate. Gator's foster home turned into his family and he now lives with 5 other Bostons - including Joe who is pictured above. PLEASE consider special needs dogs!

Update on Daisy and Lilly

Daisy and Lilly were found in a Shelter in NJ - after they had been there over a month. They are both about 4 years old. Both dogs were very timid and scared to death living in the helter. One of our members rescued them and after taking them to the Vet was informed that Daisy required surgery on both of her rear legs. She also determined during foster care, that these dogs had to be placed as a pair, as they are very attached to each other. We made arrangements for Daisy's surgery and we found the PERFECT home for them TOGETHER. We are happy to report that Daisy had her surgery and has fully recovered. We would like to sincerely thank all involved in the rescue and care of these 2 wonderful dogs. A Special Thanks goes to Kennedy Bostons in MA who helped us secure a Vet who was willing to give Daisy excellent care and perform her surgery. Please click on Kennedy Bostons to visit their website; they have great Boston information and photos.

Update on Bug

Ladybug, now renamed Bug, was picked up by the NYC Animal Control in Jan of '04 wandering the streets of Brooklyn. Bug has brain damage and was also listed at the Shelter as a biter and had a bad staph infection on her skin. NEBTR was called and she was placed with a wonderful caring family in PA who cared for her while her medical needs were met and ended up adopting her! We are happy to say that she has adjusted well and is healthy and happy. Bug has learned to cope with her disabilities and is a joy to her family.

Update on Jazzy

Say hello to a wonderful older BT Ms. Jazzy. Jazzy was rescued in March of '05 and was in terrible shape. She had spent most of her 14 years in a crate for long periods of time. Her teeth and gums were so infected she had a strong odor about her and she could not eat very well and was very thin. Jazzy had to have 12 teeth removed - BUT we are happy to report that Jazzy was adopted by Bug's parents Rich and Marcia and despite a small setback which caused her recently to lose an eye she is a 22lb old timer who loves nothing more than to snuggle in bed with her family!
