Bo (Tinsel) Loves Being a Cover Girl

I just wanted to share with the group what Carol had to say and share about NEBTR and the placement of her photo.

Thank you SO much for putting Tinsel's photo front and center!
Chris & T,V,abcd

Miss Bo Horsford "made it" as the Cover photo of NEBTR in her Liberty Outfit! This organization really knows and loves the Boston Terriers. If you are thinking of getting a new doggie- consider a Boston- and you will be matched with a perfect one for you. I hit the doggie jackpot with Bo- she is the sweetness. Happy 4th to you all.

Bo/Tinsel Ready for July 4

Carol sent us a photo of Bo (Tinsel) all dressed up for the 4th. She
looks GREAT!
Here is Dolly's update. :)

Hi Ladies- just a quick picture of lady liberty.

She is very happy and we love her as one of the family. Her nick name
is "Bo" - not sure how that started.

Everyone is impressed with how friendly and cuddly she is- and so well
behaved. I brag- that she doesn't bark!

Update on Tinsel, Now Dolly

Tinsel, now known as Dolly, sent in photos. She is still working on
getting that eye better,  but beyond that she has settled into her forever home just like the
loving dog we all know her to be.

She goes to work with her forever mom and then hangs with her forever
dad on the sofa. Great life, huh? :)

Loooooove this :)

Tinsel is Adotped

Hi all! Tinsel was adopted last night at lightning speed by Carol Horsford. Carol filled out the paperwork, I went over her meds, she scooped her up and was out the door! She was absolutely sure she was the dog for her! She drove nearly 6 hours total to retrieve her! It was so fast we forgot to take pictures! Hopefully we get some updates soon!

My house is very quiet with only two dogs, I have lots of extra time in the morning without all the medications, but my bed felt very cold in the middle where her little furry cone face used to be. I miss her already!

Erin Sullivan

Erin is great to work with.  She was the yin to my yang on this foster.
Not to mention that the name TINSEL will always remind us of the sweetest dog, with the best disposition we
ever had the pleasure to foster. :)

Tinsel in her forever home....first night after a LONG drive home. :)!  Doesn't she look comfortable!  Thanks to much to her foster moms Chris and Erin for loving and rescuing this little beauty!  What a great job you have done with Tinsel!

Tinsel, Roxy and Roxy's Babies

Hi all! So this morning I dropped off my fosters Roxy and Tinsel to be spayed. While I was there, I met Roxy's puppies! I also heard the rest of her sad story.

She was dropped off at a kill sgelter in Georgia with 4 puppies. While she was in her kennel run, the dog next door scaled the dividing wall, and tragically, killed and ate one of her puppies.

I heard this story a few weeks back from one of the Sanctuary volunteers, but I didnt realize this was my foster! So so sad.

Her remaining 3 puppies are happy and healthy, and almost ready for adoption. They look nothing like her!

Roxy has a great family lined up for her. They are a newly married couple, the Mrs and I actually used to wirk together at a Vet office many years ago. They have a nice new house, and plan to take Roxy to doggy day care at least twice a week, and to rhe dog park near their house regularly. They will be picking her up Friday to start their new life together :) im so excited. What a different life she will have now!

Ill send out an update later today after I pick Tinsel and Roxy up later today :) im nervous for Tinsel because she is an older gal, but I know she has to be tough to have survived everything she has been dealt so far.

How great that the mom has a new home already!  Usually everyone wants the puppies and the mom has to wait.  Thanks Erin.

Tinsel the Fun Police

Here is a video of the Fun Police Siren. Check out my husband's face when Tinsel starts. It's ear piercing in person. lol I think her megaphone might have even enhanced it a bit. :) You can hear my dogs playing in the background. That's what Tinsel is complaining about, she wants to stop them. Hence the title "Fun Police Siren". Chris and Tinsel

Tinsel Gets a Beauty Treatment

Tinsel arrived at Erin Sullivan's home today around noon.
Tinsel has been given a hot oil treatment and a milk bath shampoo, in
just the time it took me to get home!
I KNEW I should have stayed there a little longer, I might have gotten
offered one too. lol

Here is Erin and Tinsel and Tom...in that order.
Next stop for Tinsel is a spay and then she heads to her forever home in
CT !! :D

Thank you Erin!!!

Wow, she got the spa treatment.  Thanks so much Chris and Erin.  What a lucky girl.  Positive thoughts and well wishes for the patients!

Oh youre all so welcome! Tinsel is so little and cute! What a shining little personality she has! Tinsel had a lot of dry flakey skin, no doubt caused by her lack of care in her former life. She looks great after Her super duper moisturizing treatment, and with the LM Farms supplement she came with (I actually use the same stuff wirh my dogs), she will have a fabulous coat in no time.

I had a lot of fun with her this afternoon rooting through my dog trunk to find all the things that have been donated for little girls that I havent been able to use since I had foster Daisy. She is a great sport!

Tinsel goes in for her spay surgery tomorrow, alongside my foster Roxy.  Please keep them in your thoughts!

More to come I am sure!

Tinsel Drinks from Her "Toilet"

Tinsel Says Thanks

Tinsel has an Unhappy Valentine's Day

Tinsel is NOT having a happy Valentine's day.
She got an infection in her eye and now she has to wear the cone of
shame....and it's not even in a heart shape! Darn.

Chris & Tinsel

Oh nos!!  Poor Tinsel!  She really is not amused!

Tinsel's Gift's

The package for Tinsel arrived today!  What a wonderful mix.  When I emptied the package on the floor in front of her she didn't know which item to pick up first.
The collar FITS, and so does the sweater.  Thank you SO much.  She's in her "cave" (a crate she only uses when she wants privacy) with her new chew stick, with her collar and sweater on.  She's one happy dog.

Thanks so much,
Chris & Tinsel

More on Tinsel

Tinsel has been with NEBTR for 9 days now. She has survived being
thrown out in sub zero temperatures, and has avoided bloat by the skin
of her teeth. The backs of her ears must have gotten frostbit,
because there is very little fur on them, and although the skin looks
healthy, I doubt she will ever grow fun on them again. Her left eye was
healing up nicely until she started scratching it today, so now she is
sporting a doughnut to keep her from doing injury to her eye. I swear,
I never thought I'd get this much use out of an inflatable doughnut!
Money was invested well with THAT purchase...lol.

When Tinsel first arrived she was skin and bones, with the exception of
her bloated belly. Now her belly is normal and she has begun to fill
out. You can no longer see her ribs, and her backbone isn't as
prominent any more. She started out on 5 meals of 1/4 cup each, and she
is now up to 1/3 heaping cups three times a day. Although she still
eats quickly, she has slowed down from when she first arrived. She
tries to take treats gently, but sometimes the excitement is too much,
or she over shoots her treat and gets your fingers. She doesn't mean
to, and it's never done in anger. She is as surprised as you are when
your fingers end up in her mouth.

Her personality has come forward. She is still as sweet as can be with
people. You can pick her up, give kisses, play with her, take her food,
she has no people aggression at all. But with dogs she is in charge.
She won't let my dogs bark, or play, or make any type of sound. If they
do, she is right on them with discipline. She reminds me of a little
old lady in charge of unruly children. Or perhaps an elderly librarian?
But if my dogs are quiet, and being good, she will snuggle up to them
for a nap.

She's a sweet old lady that just wants someone to love her. :)

Chris & Tinsel

That is so funny!  She reminds me of my old pug, who we called the "Fun Police". She was sweet  in all ways until any shenanigans started, then she was like a hall monitor.  It's all good!  She's adorable, thanks for helping her get so well.
Denice, Jackson, NJ

Denice,
I love that "Fun Police" tag.  That is Tinsel to a tee...unless of course SHE is the one playing.  Then any and all noise SHE makes is understandable, and correct.
Thanks for the chuckle! :)

A Valentine from Tinsel

Tinsel Warm and Cozy
