Petco Port Chester Ny Oct. 10

We have been invited by Petco of Port Chester, NY to be guests of an adoption event they are holding for us on 10/10.  They typically hold adoption events for Cats and Kittens and were eager to partner up with a Dog Rescue group and help promote adoptions for our Bostons!  Come and join us - Judith Liu is organizing the event for NEBTR.

Dolly and Simon

After a long morning of playing inside and outside, in typical fashion, Dolly is napping and Simon says he's ready for more.

NEBTR Thanks Lupine Pet

DSC09592

NEBTR thanks Lupine Pet from New Hampshire. Our foster pups very often come with nothing - no leash, no collar, no harness. Lupine Pet has very generously offered to supply our new fosters with beautiful accessories, as pictured above. They are gorgeous and well made.

You can also check out their store for your own pup. Foster Moms....if you need leashes, collars, or harnesses, contact Chris Cassner and she will send them out to you.

PLEASE visit the Lupine site and support them, as they supported NEBTR. They have some cool stuff AND come with a warranty! Can you imagine?

Update on Spike

Spike is doing great. He is settling in very well. He is very sweet and gentle. He loves to spend time going from one dog bed to another. We will be slowly introducing him to the other dogs. He seems like he wants to play. He will be a great addition to anyone's home.

Adoptable Pups Wishlist! ABBOTT & EMMA (Best friends forever!)

Hi! We're Abbott (Boston) & Emma (Puggle)! Looks like we'll be in our foster home for a while longer while we're getting over some health issues. We've been together since we were pups and we do EVERYTHING together - including walk on the same leash and we want to sleep in the same bed.
But our foster mommy only has little dog stuff! We'd really like some big beds so we can cuddle together and a leash where we can run around together and sniff everything - our favorite activity.
Won't you help us spend more time together until we get adopted?
We ruff you!
xoxo,

Charlie is doing great! She and her new sisters Pedals, Pretzell & Pikle get along perfectly. Charlie enjoys laying on her back in the warm grass with the sunshine beaming down on her. And she is quite the snuggler! We are so happy to have Charlie in our lives.

She has free run of the house and does very well for a little one whose unable to see or hear well

New Foster Spike

Welcome Spike, a sweet nine year old.  He is very cute, but  confused to be in a new environment.  Thanks to Jill Charles for opening her heart and home to this adorable boy.

Bubba and Tink

Bubba's owner passed away and the family didn't want him so he went to a shelter in Pittsburgh, PA. He was very attached to his owner and has seizures the shelter was effecting his health. He was fostered then addopted by my family. Tink was a rescue from Missouri she was a breeder but stopped producing so the breeder said take her or we will distroy her. She is the crazyiest most lovable girl ... and would not hurt anyone and now lives with Bubba and the others in our pack. Please adopt a rescue they need homes.

New Foster Skeeter

Hi everyone. I picked up Skeeter yesterday. He is a 3 1/2 yr old true Boston. He does not stop! I'm going to see if I can bottle his energy and then we all can live off of it and be rich!

In Memory of Daisy Mae

Today is a bittersweet day.  Last year on this day my husband, Joe drove to Sunbury PA to meet a complete stranger who was surrendering his late father's bostons who felt he was unable to provide the attention they required.  At this point we had spoken to the rescue and stated we would foster both Winston and Daisy momentarily until we could find them a foster home since Joe and I didn't feel equipped to handle two foster dogs, since we had never fostered before and already had two bostons of our own...little did we know that these two would steel our hearts within seconds and that month would turn into a year... during that year Daisy and Winston became part of our family.

Daisy became the "mother" of our gaggle of bostons and Winston had become my own personal stalker.  Joe and I would not change one thing about this past year.  Joe modified his work schedule to allow more potty breaks for Daisy, we didn't go on any vacations together (since it's impossible to find someone to watch four dogs), we planned everything around our fur family to make sure all four of them knew they were loved and never felt alone, it just felt natural to plan around them....

Today, exactly one year later we picked up Daisy Mae's remains.  😢  She had a great year with us, brought us numerous memories and laughs and we wouldn't change one thing. This girl has brought us so much love and laughter and totally changed our aspect on senior dogs. Throughout the year between Daisy getting better and becoming 100% again we were searching for her retirement home, but all along we knew she had found it and now she has retired permanently and will stay in our hearts forever.  We miss her so much and can't get her off our minds.  We wish she could celebrate wth us today knowing it's been a year of happiness, but we know she's in a better place now and is now pain free at the rainbow bridge.

Thank you everyone who has helped her throughout the past year,  she really wouldn't have made it this far without all the love and support from NEBTR, all the volunteers, donators & supporters.  You truly made a difference in her life as well as ours.  ♡

Foster parents to Sir Winston & Daisy Mae

What a beautiful tribute to Miss Daisy Mae.  Thank you so much for giving her a loving home, and Winston too, for the last year of her life.

Shadow Is Adopted

Shadow arrived at her forever home today. She will be in the lap of
luxury with Yvonne, a NEBTR volunteer that fell for Shadow's charms
during her transport to foster.

Shadow's new name, and most fitting of such a lovely girl, is now Bonny,
in reference to the infamous Anne Bonny who was a most successful Pirate
in her day. (Shadow has that one eye patch as you will recall, very
pirate-esk).

Best of everything to you Bonny, and your new forever family!

Zoey's Trip to Pet Smart

I treated my little old lady Zoey to a pawdicure at Petsmart today.  She was such a good girl.  She even made a few doggie friends.  The groomers gave her a biscuit on the way out but she insisted on taking it to go rather than eating it there.   She carried it all the way out to the car and set it right next to her once she got in.  As soon as we parked the car at home, she gobbled it up.

Kristy

Well, she's just about the cutest little princess ever!

Adorable Bugsy

Bugsy with his new toy, he was excited to get a package in the mail and wanted to say thank you!

Bugsy will be 5 years old in October, he is a 40 pound solid muscular brownie Boston Terrier.

He loves to cuddle and gives lots of kisses, he needs to be with someone all the time. He loves to play in the yard, and wants to be everywhere his people goes, he is great in the car.

Although he loves to interact with everyone and other dogs, he would be best with no other animals and no small children. Bugsy will need a structured schedule and lots of attention.

Since he is very strong, he will need is person/people to be strong enough to handle him.

Vegas Has a Forever Home

I wanted to provide an update on our Foster, Vegas. It is with very sad news that my husband and I must close our doors to any future fosters.

After careful consideration, my husband and I have decided to adopt Vegas and officially call him "ours". We were warned that this might happen - we just did not realize that it would be with VEGAS!!! Vegas has been with us since March of this year - and boy it was not easy as some of you may remember. Vegas has come a long way since day 1. With a combination of being deaf, a senior and having many behavioral issues - this guy was going to be a tough foster to place. Having said that, Vegas is quite unique and has earned a special place in my heart.  I dedicated so much time into the process with him, that I have completely fallen in love with this boy! Who would have guessed he would be the one...

It's important to us that he spend the rest of his life comfortable, happy and ridiculously loved. We did not feel comfortable moving him on to a new home with the potential of a disaster to adjust. I don't know if anyone would have seen the potential in Vegas via a phone conversation, or pet finder - as he is a dog you have to experience first hand. And even then - it might not have been so pleasant. But he grows on you - then latches on and loves you unconditionally.

We started off this process wanting a young dog and companion for our 3 yr old Boston. Consideration of ever adopting a senior dog was way on the bottom of our list. But I am so glad we were exposed to this experience - as we would have never met Vegas. At 10 yrs old, Vegas has given our 3 yr old Boston a run for his money! They are great companions and trust one another 100%.

I am glad we fostered and gave Vegas a chance - we could not have asked for a better NEW family member!!

Thank you so much and for letting me be part of the family at NEBTR!

Judith
*Fur ever mom to Kai Xin & NOW Vegas!

Adoptable Pup Wishlist! HERCULES

Hi friends, Hercules here!
As my name suggests, I am the pinnacle of strength and masculinity, tipping the scales at 32 pounds of pure muscle and finesse! But I have one tiny weakness... and need some belly bands to keep from leaking. I'm not embarrassed though... I know that admitting my flaws is just another sign of STRENGTH!!!!
If you have a few dollars to spare, perhaps you could send my foster mom one. I would really appreciate it, and I know she would too!
P.S. Am I not ridiculously cute? I'm looking for a home, so if you think you might want to share yours with a greek god, drop me a line!
