Scooby Goes to the Rainbow Bridge
It is with a massive whole in my heart, constant tears, and an irreparable broken heart that I had to put Scooby down. The loss is huge, the pain radiates throughout my body and it was quite possibly the worst thing I have experienced. He is gone, but will NEVER be forgotten. Words have not helped me heal, neither have tears. It's just straight grief. I miss him every second of every day. He was my first rescue, and the first dog I ever cared for on my own.

Scooby Update
Hey all!
Just wanted to give you a check in on Scooby before I go on vacation. He's been a real joy in my house. He has come a long way since day one. He's very friendly towards other people, hasn't shown any aggression. He's a little unsure of new dogs, but doesn't immediately lunge after them, they smell each other, then sometimes if the other dog moves too quickly he gets scared. But he's the sweetest dog! Loves to follow me around the house and sits on my lap at night. He gives me good kisses!
He got his picture taken by my boyfriend who is a photographer/internet web guy for WPHL 17. Please enjoy! Sarah

Adoptable Pup Wishlist! SCOOBY
Hi new friends. I'm Scooby. Pleased to meet ya. I am a 9-year-old boy. My owner became very sick and had to give me up. I like my new foster mom Sarah a lot, and am so grateful to NEBTR for rescuing me from the shelter. I am a happy, sweet little guy who loves giving kisses and playing with toys.
I was wondering if maybe you could send me something from this list I put together... The most important thing on it are my medicines... the rest would just be a bonus. I have a condition where I fall down a lot, and it would really help me to have supplements to help me. I am having surgery soon to remove a mass in my groin, and so I could really use some pick-me-ups
I'm really thankful for you guys... I promise to post pictures and thank-yous as soon as I receive anything!

More on Scooby
As my foster, I am learning a lot about him! He loves his ball and his bed! He is very alert while we walk.
We tested his playing skills this morning. He definitely likes the squeaky ball, will "sit" before I throw it, runs to get it, then jumps up on the couch. So we will work on "fetching" while he's fostered. Such a sweet boy!!

More on Scooby From Abington
Hello all,
Just wanted to update you on my FIRST Foster, Scooby. I pulled him at 2:45 pm on Wednesday from the Montgomery County SPCA in the snow! His owner was dying, so her family dropped him off with 2 other dogs. He came with no paperwork, but he is making monumental progress!!!
He is eating his new food (grain free Blue Buffalo), snoozes (or should I say snores) on my couch most of the time. He sleeps in his bed at night (crate was NOT something he is comfortable with at all - would howl endlessly). He is so sweet and gives lots of Boston kisses! He's been a dream come true (so I hear) for a foster. He doesn't like being alone, though, so we are working on that. He barks a lot when I first leave. I have left for 30 minutes at a time and when i get back he is still barking :-(
BUT-----
Since he is not OK with a crate, I "penned" him in my kitchen while I went to family for Thanksgiving dinner. I came home to a CLEAN KITCHEN!!!!! No messes!!!! and he was sleeping in his bed!!!! No barking!!! I felt TERRIBLE leaving him since he is so new, but I have to get him to learn it's OK to be home alone and that I will be coming back.
He goes to the vet on Monday for his wellness check and once we get blood work back, he will be getting neutered. Honestly, I think he could be totally adoptable after his adjustment with me. He's such a sweet boy, has very low energy, but listens pretty good, good on a leash, but with some more training, should be able to know simple commands. (Haven't tested this yet as I wanted to let him settle for a week.)
Enjoy the pictures! He loves getting his ears scratched! Working on getting the video of him playing off my phone. File size issues... UGH!

Sarah, thank you so much for taking in this beautiful boy and for loving him when he needed love the most!
