Moxie Living The Good Life

Former foster Moxie (originally Soxy) lived it up on the beach in Avalon, NJ last weekend. No surprise at all, Moxie dove right into the ocean and loved the water! Her new name really suits her personality perfectly! She has been the best addition to my life. Thanks NEBTR!

And Thank you, Kenny Gambone, for providing a loving permanent home for Moxie

Learning To Live

Buck’s Vet Visit

buckvet

Buck made out great at the vet.
No concerns about his blind eye. I will be giving him eye drops in case it feels dry.
He is scheduled for neutering and a teeth cleaning next week.
Things are looking up for this little guy!
Justine

Justine, he is a lucky boy to have your love. <3

New Foster Jumper

jumper

Welcome new foster Jumper!  Jumper is a Boston/Chi mix.  Jumper arrived from the York Cty SPCA.  He is an 11 year old neutered male.  He was adopted out from the shelter, then found as stray.  His microchip took him back to the people who adopted him and they don't want him.  He is very sweet, good with other dogs and was terrified at the shelter.

NEBTR couldn’t let this poor boy stay there or worse, so he he now one of our fosters.  Thanks so much to Jess Casey for opening her heart and home to this boy and for finally showing him love.  We love our seniors!

Update on Dozer

dozer

A car ride is Dozer's fave thing to do! Even better if he knows I'm going to the drive thru at McDonalds! I just said the word "McDonalds" to him and I got this look!

Robin May Ruggie

Foster Junior

Foster Mom Linda Vermeylen reports, "This puppy mill boy is such a love.  He is so good and loving and I have no doubt he will be adopted quickly.  I see no special needs for him.  He is perfect and loves everyone and everything."

Thank you Linda for turning his life around and showing him what love can do!

Domino Says I Love You

Bebe and Bailey are Adopted

Bailey

Bebe

Congratulations to Bebe and Bailey who have been adopted by the Allegrio family.

Bebe and Bailey were abandoned at a kennel facility in Long Island by their owner. The dogs lived at the kennel for 3 months and they needed a fresh start on life and home of their own.  Bebe is a spayed female Boston.  Bailey is a spayed female Manchester (like a min pin).  We are thrilled to report that they have been adopted together - through all that they have been through, they have always had each other. They eat, sleep and play together.  Foster mom Linda Antonelli found that they cry if they are even separated for a small amount of time.

Thanks to Linda Antonelli for taking in these babies and for fostering them and finding a perfect home for this bonded pair.  Linda always does so much for so many.

Madden Undergoes Surgery

Special thanks to Walter Williams for the portrait

First of all, Maddie is such a sweetheart! My husband and I are really enjoying having her with us--all 38lb of her! Even our resident BT (Jules) is glad she's here--and they've come to be quite a pair. A child saw them in the park the other day and asked about the "mama and baby." She's very calm and happy just about all the time. She gets really excited when it's time to go out and when she senses it's treat time, and prances around us when we come home. I can't imagine why her owners dropped her and her Boxer brother at the shelter :(

I've had a hard time figuring out what she likes to play with--she doesn't care for any of the stuffed/plastic toys or balls and has only chewed on a Nylabone briefly. But she has really enjoyed my resident BT's deer antler (which Jules has kindly shared) and romping around the house with Jules. She also loves jumping up on our bed and hanging out. I guess it's her guilty pleasure...she knows she can't sleep with us (not enough room) but she gives me a look when I'm in the room, and I let her lounge when I'm in there.

As was posted earlier, Maddie has a small mast cell tumor on one of her mammary glands. She has surgery today (6/6) to remove the mammary gland and some of the surrounding tissue, and she'll have a couple of weeks of recovery afterward. Please send good thoughts and prayers our way! This girl has a lot of love to give to a family that's looking for it--we just need to get her better first. I'll try to post again once we know something more.

BethanyVaughan

Special thanks to Bethany and Matt for taking in and caring for this special girl.  All our thoughts and prayers are with you as she undergoes surgery.  If anyone would like to make a donation for her care, her page is at http://www.donationto.com/NEBTR  As always 100% of your tax exempt donations go to Maddie.

Photos of Rocky II

Rocky had so much fun over the weekend! We took him to a track meet on Saturday to support a friend who coaches and he wasn't allowed in so he and I played ball in a field while the race took place. Then Rocky enjoyed the beach (Jersey Shore) over the weekend when the lifeguards were not on duty. He is a wonderful dog!! He was even really good meeting new people, including our little nieces who are 5 and 2 years old. Even when was off-leash he stayed by my side and came right back when called.

It is amazing how much he has improved in such a short amount of time. It is amazing to see a dog decompress, relax, and adjust. He came in as a "biter" but there is no sign of him biting now. We adore him.

At Home With Sasha

My little brown girl, Sasha, was adopted Monday night by Jeanette Santomo. She was so excited to meet them - jumping all over Jeanette and her daughters and nieces, giving them non-stop kisses. I spoke with Jeanette today and she couldn't be more in love with Sasha. She says Sasha follows her everywhere, cuddles with the girls on the couch, and sleeps by her side all night without crying at all. She just fit right into their home like she was there all along!

Here are some pictures of Sasha in her new home.

Heather Coursen

Thanks so much, Heather, for loving her until you found the perfect home for Sasha!

Bella Boo Loving It Up

Bella Boo is so happy with her new adoring family.

Well, as you can see....Bella Boo (on the left) is in her favorite position on the couch and loving her new life....her sister, Xenie, is also partaking in a nap.
:)

Thank you all those involved in her rescue and adoption and a Super Thanks to her new family for choosing to adopt, not shop.

And ongratulations to foster Mom Patti!!  I am so happy for Bella Boo! You gave her the start to the life she deserves.  Wishing them the best.

A Big Woof From Rocky

Rocky was so excited waiting for me to open the big box we received in the mail. He played with that kong toy all night and brought it into his dog bed with him. Most of all he LOVES his new dog bed! He was sleeping on a big fleece blanket that he had from his previous owner. He definitely needed his own bed and it was getting too hot for that blanket. Yesterday morning he slept late for the first time; at 7:15 I had to drag him out of bed to go outside. When we got back he ran right upstairs and got back in bed. Thank you so much! Here are a few photos of him. He likes watching The Voice with me :)

Congratulations to Bella Boo, who was adopted by the Bolalek family.  And many, many thanks to Patti Maddamma, her foster Mom, who has brought her so far so that she can have a chance of a loving family of her own.  Patti started the journey to love with this former puppy mill beauty.  Another happy ending!
