Stained Glass Memorial
Bec Maier did this stained glass panel of Paige and Cal. It is 26" long and 14" high.
Like Tammy Trivelpiece and me, Bec volunteers in both greyhound and Boston terrier rescue.
I just wanted to share. I absolutely treasure this. And, I WILL hang it better when it's daylight! Bec also made a beautiful stone/marker for my foster BT KoKo. More pictures to come.
Bec is more than willing to donate a portion back to us if any of you are interested in stained glass panels, etched glass etc.
FWIW, KoKo's stone and this panel were $250.

Stained Glass Tribute
Look at this beautiful stained glass piece that was made for Joy Riley, featuring her Forever Foster Beadoe.
Joy writes, "I know several of us also are owned by greyhounds. My friend, Bec Maier (who also has greyhounds and bostons) is making this panel for me. It will have Paige, who I lost to osteosarcoma over a year ago :-( and Beadoe, my little deaf fear biter that Paige so helped making him feel safe and secure."
What a beautiful tribute to two special pups!

What the Well Dressed Boston Terrier Wears for Fall

Just in time for Fall, this orange hat is topped with a crocheted brown stem, two green leaves and a small curly green vine. It fastens with two white vintage buttons at the neck. The open weave of the crochet acts as button holes so it is very adjustable. This hat will make a wonderful Halloween costume, but is also practical for dogs living in cold weather areas that risk frozen ears.
Made by Beantown Homemade on Etsy. The seller bio says, "We are Anne and Michael, married couple, east coasters, both artists and teachers currently living in the Midwest. We love Bean and we love animals. We hope more and more pets each year can find a safe and loving home like the one we give Bean. We are a member of Etsy for Animals and we proudly support Hearts United for Animals and Mid America Boston Terrier Rescue."

Marti's Portrait

In our recent raffle, one of the prizes was a custom portrait of the winner's dog by artist Heather LeMay. Debbie Philpott was the winner, and chose to have a painting done of her Boston Marti. You can see all of Heather's beautiful work, which features animals, at her site and Etsy store, Kay Ann Works. Heather is also the owner of a beautiful Boston named Kayti. Doesn't Marti look absolutely beautiful?
On February 2, 2009, Marti, age 16, crossed the rainbow bridge. Here's what Debbie writes about her:
"Yesterday I helped my beloved little girl to the bridge. Marti captured my heart when I met her at 12 weeks age and has been with me nearly 17 years. The depth and breath of her impact on my life is astonishing. Marti has taught me so much about life and patience and what is truly important and taken me down so many paths I would have never traveled had it not been for her. She slowed down some the last couple of years and was always a quiet, polite girl, but the silence in my house is deafening. My sister and I spent the day with her, doing Marti things, and telling her how much we love her. I thank God for helping me realize that it was time and to give me the strength yesterday to do what I needed to do. I could not have done this on my own. "
