Nala Celebrates Halloween
Nala celebrated her first Halloween with her new family! She was adopted six months ago. It seems like it was just yesterday!

Update on Nala
I got a message from Nala's family today. They said she is
doing very well and sent me pics of her "helping" with yard work. She
must have "yard work" confused with "play ball"
I really miss that little nugget and can't wait to get back to fostering!

Princess Nala is Adopted
Little Nala was adopted today by the Stauffer family. She
seems like the perfect dog for their family. I am just so happy for
her!
She went from being kept in a crate in her own filth and
neglected to being a pampered Princess sleeping wherever she wants,
guarding the neighborhood from the front window of the house and of
course getting regular manicures.
I could not be more proud of her!
Here is a pic of her in her new home enjoying her very own
tennis ball. She's always had to share her toys. Now she gets them all
to herself with two little girls who are excited to dress her up and paint her nails!

Adoptable Pup Spotlight! PRINCESS NALA
All hail Princess Nala!
This little Princess did not always have such a royal situation. She was rescued from a hoarding situation, and was kept in a crate for most of her day.
Her luck has changed, and now she is making an amazing recovery and is ready to find her forever home. Even though she's 5 years old, she looks like a puppy, and loves to give kisses and cuddle with her humans. She is still learning how to play, but gets better at it every day and never stops trying. She tends to steal all of the doggie toys and hoard them near her but her foster mama is working on that :)
She is good with other dogs but she can growl a little in the beginning so some patience will be needed in that area.
Princess Nala lives up to her name, and is an absolute doll. She is loving her new life of playing in the grass and breathing the fresh air, and can't wait to find her home.
Age: 5
Fun Fact: She looks great in a variety of hats.
If you you think yours might be Princess Nala's "furever home," please fill out an adoption application today.

Nala Plays Outside
Princess Nala had her first experience with playing outside
today. I wish I had a good video of it. She was hesitant at first.
Typically, when she sees a toy she takes it and guards it. After a few
times watching her foster sister Lucy fetch and return the ball, she
took off after it and even brought it back a few times! I just love
watching her do regular dog things!

Nala and Brendle Are Tired
Fosters Nala (on the left) and Brendle (right) got tired waiting for me to drop something while making dinner.
Brendle is the new guy and Nala is sure to remind him which
bed is hers, which toys are hers and which part of my lap is hers. He
is very good at respecting her princess mentality :-)
Nala goes for her spay tomorrow. Wish her luck!!

Princess Nala Ready for Adoption Soon
It's been a little over a month since Nala was rescued from
her previous hoarding situation. The vet thinks she is about 7 yrs
old. She has a perpetual puppy face and floppy ears so it's easy to
forget that she is the oldest dog in the house!
When she got here, she was super skinny, and had hair loss
due to flea infestation. She was lethargic and pretty much slept all
day for the first few weeks.
She has such a sweet, passive personality. Luckily her
previous home did not have any negative effects on her demeanor at all.
She loves people and other animals. As soon as she sees another dog,
she walks right up and gives them a kiss. Then she steals all of their
toys. Not aggressively, though, just very sneaky! She has no problem
with grooming at all. In fact my daughter even painted her nails a
pretty pink color and she just sat there and enjoyed being pampered.
I was having an issue potty training her at first because
she was so afraid to go outside. I kept taking her out for a few mins
every day and she would stand by the door and shake. Suddenly, one day,
she ran out with the other dogs and did her business and that was it.
After that, accidents in the house have become far and few between.
I need to schedule her spay and work on some basic commands and I think she will be ready to go to her forever home very soon!

She has put on a few pounds since but she has also gained some muscle tone and has started filling out. She is trying to play with the other dogs but she is still learning. Her fur is also growing back in. She has some very pretty brown flecks in there!

Nala's New Toy
Little Princess Nala is a bit of a toy hoarder. She will take everyone's toys when they aren't looking. I had to let her keep this one because really, the toy says it all!

Nala Says Thank You
Nala wanted to say thank you for the surprise she got in
the mail the other day! She loves the rope and it came in perfect time
as she was trying to steal the other dog's rope. They appreciate her
having her own rope now, lol.
She also loved the bully stick. I haven't been able to
take any pics of her with the rope because she goes into crazy play mode
whenever she sees it. All of the pics wind up blurry.
Thank you StacieKyle and all of those that donated treats. It was a nice surprise :-)

Nala would like to thank Lisa McGarthwaite for her new pink harness and squeaky duck toy.
She would also like to thank the Braunstein for the bully sticks.
She is quickly learning how to enjoy life :-)

Meet Princess Nala
This is my new foster. I got her a few days ago. She was rescued from a hoarding situation. She is approximately 7 years old but still looks like a puppy. She has a long road ahead before she can go to her forever home but she's a strong girl.
She didn't have a name when I got her. We decided that her name should be Princess Nala. She's been through a lot so she should be treated like a princess from now on :-)

New Fosters Princess Nala and Ryder
The West Virginia hoarder pups are here. The boy is not neutered and is very rambunctious. The female is a little more mellow and scares easily. They both look terrible, but the female looks worse. They whimper when you leave the room. I think they crave human attention most at this point. I've attached a few pics. The female has the white face and the male is more black.
Here is the story of the hoarder:
http://www.wowktv.com/story/24521587/animals-from-the-doddridge-county-animal-seizure-looking-for-good-homes
The female will be fostered by Kristy Ieraci, who drove to West Virginia to get them. The male will find a foster home with Terry Tomory. Thanks so much to both of you for saving these beautiful pups! And a special thank you to Kristy for going above and beyond for them!
