New Foster Magwai (Now Lucy!)

Meet new foster Magwai (her name may change; she seems to be answering to Lucy!) She was a stray from Maryland. She is thought to be 10 and is in rough shape. Her eyes are infected, her ears are infected and have mites, and she has bumps and sores all over her joints.

They brought her out in a towel.  She has conjunctivitis and oozing green from her eyes; badly infected ears with yeast and mites; URI; many bumps on her body, especially at her joints which had open sores from her licking them.

Sharon Davidson took her to her vet on the way home; then jumped in her RV to go to the shore for 9 days vacation.  She said the shelter gave her the name of Magwai which she will change.  Her vet estimates her to be around 10 and in rough shape.  Sharon has all the meds needed and is happy that she loves her cats, other dogs and the children.

Sharon, this goes above and beyond, but you usually do.  We can't all thank you enough for taking this little girl on your vacation.  Sharon, you get the gold star.

We will keep you updated on her progress.

Update on Breezy

Hi all!

Our foster pup, Breezy, was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor a few weeks ago and it had to come off. She had the surgery yesterday and is doing great! The vet feels they got very clean margins (a tumor
that's more of a blob is an indication of greater malignancy, but hers was more of a circle), and the tumor has been sent for a biopsy. Hopefully she does not need any further treatment and can go on being a happy, sweet little pup. It's so wonderful that NEBTR can help this little lady get the care she deserves and be a healthy, happy Boston. She was a great ambassador for adoption and for the group at the Petco event last weekend (thanks again, April and Leslie!!). :) I've attached a picture of her getting pet by the giant Petco mascot - pretty cute.

All the best,

Padi in Pittsburgh

Update on Hope

Hope is really coming along!
Narelle is taking good care of her since pulling her out of the NYC ACC.
Look how happy she looks!

Narelle says that she has gained four and a half pounds, and is pretty smart.  She knew after one day which apartments to turn into to pick up the dogs that Narelle walks.

Thanks to Narelle, she is no longer the scared and terrified skinny dog on death row.   She is beautiful, all due to Narelle's loving care!

New Foster Ozzie

Ozzie came from a shelter in Allentown, PA.  Lisa Vaughan got him from the shelter and net transporter Judy Piretra, who took him to Jerrilyn Walter, who in turn brought him to Foster Mom AnnMarie Gatto.  Judy noted, "Picked up Ozzie from Lisa this morning. Lisa was right - what a sweetheart! He laid right down to nap during the ride and I took him home to rest for a short while. He is such a nice dog! I think he fell for Jerrilyn as soon as she walked in the door to take him to AnnMarie. I believe he knows he is in loving hands and away from the shelter. Best Wishes Ozzie as you complete your journey with NEBtRescue!"

Thanks fo all the NEBTR volunteers who banded together to help this boy!

Ozzie is in need of some TLC, but he is affectionate, sweet, good with dogs and cats, and super mellow.   He would be a great companion for an older person.
