The Year of the Pearl

Note:  This letter was sent to Narelle Wolf, foster mom for little Pearl, formerly Hope, by her forever Mom Heather Allcorn. It’s great to hear how well she is doing, and many thanks again to Narelle.
 
Hi Narelle,
Just wanted to send you an update on our little Pearl. It was last September 9th that we met up and took Pearl home.  She's changed soooo much this past year!

When we first brought her home and let her out in our backyard, she sat in the corner of the deck, shaking.  Now, she loves going outside. She darts out the back door and does her business with no trouble. We've also installed a doggie door that she can use when we're home.  Sometimes she goes outside and just lays in the sun.

And when it's time for a walk - she goes crazy!  The minute we grab her leash she starts jumping up and down.  We go for daily walks after dinner every night.  She's also become my shadow.  Whatever room I'm in, she's in.  She follows me up and down the stairs, room to room. She also LOVES pillows we found.  She's not able to jump on the bed by herself, but when we lift her up and beelines for the pillows and makes herself right at home.  I attached a picture of her taking a Saturday afternoon nap with me.

Also, Pearl joined us on our cross country trip to California for Christmas this year!  She was a champ in the car and enjoyed all the attention she got when my family in California met her.  We also bought her a jacket this winter since it was so cold out!  I attached a picture of that too.

So needless to say, Pearl has become such a big part of our family and we love having her, and I think it's safe to say that she loves being here too.

Hope Becomes Pearl

Remember this sad, skinny girl, that Narelle Wolf pulled out of the NYC ACC?  Here she is now, living in the lap of luxury!

It's been awhile and I wanted to fill you in on our little
lady. Pearl is getting more and more adjusted by the day. She's loves
her doggy bed and spends the day cozied up in it. Doug gives her a treat
every morning before he leaves. We take her and Kevin for a walk every
night and she snores her way through the night. Sometimes her snoring
wakes us up! It's a race to get to sleep before her :)

She's warming up to playing ball with Kevin also. She still has her
bathroom issues now and then, but we're all dealing and learning.

Thank you Narelle for giving Hope a Precious new beginning as a Pearl.

Hope, Now Pearl, is Adopted

I just wanted to let you know that the skinny little girl pulled from the NYC animal control a few months ago was adopted!

Hope, now Pearl, was fostered by Narelle Wolf in NYC and literally brought back to life.
She was so very skinny when Narelle pulled her out.
Pearl now has a BT brother and a backyard. She is still working on housebreaking and mastering stairs but she is very happy!

I've attached a picture of Pearl in her new cozy bed. Look how healthy her size is now!

Jerrilyn Walter

Hope was the perfect name when she had so little hope in her life, and Narelle was able to provide that for her.  Now she wants everyone to know she is a beautiful Pearl!

A Happy Hope

Hi It's me Hope!! Remember how skinny I was when NEBTR pulled me out of the NYC shelter a few weeks ago? My foster Mom is taking such good care of me! I'm so happy to be out of there!

Update on Hope

Hope is really coming along!
Narelle is taking good care of her since pulling her out of the NYC ACC.
Look how happy she looks!

Narelle says that she has gained four and a half pounds, and is pretty smart.  She knew after one day which apartments to turn into to pick up the dogs that Narelle walks.

Thanks to Narelle, she is no longer the scared and terrified skinny dog on death row.   She is beautiful, all due to Narelle's loving care!

New Foster Hope

 

The cutie pictured above is new foster Hope, who was rescued from the NY ACC by volunteer and foster mom Narelle Wolf.  Narelle will be telling us more about this skinny girl as her personality unfolds.
