More Photos of Archie
This is Archie, super big boy that Pam fostered and has now adopted. He was our "Chip In" dog las month, and thanks everyone for their help!
He has given us a few scares with seizures. Just two weeks ago he was at UPenn for a couple of days while they regulated his seizing and meds. Pam's boys were frantic with worry over him (Pam was a mess too).
You can tell that Archie and Sean are best friends!

Happy Anniversary, Gracie (formerly Hayley)
I just got our ecard for our 1 year anniversary of adopting Hayley. It has been a fantastic year! We've renamed her Gracie (as to not totally confuse her when Chris called for me!) and we can't imagine our lives without her. She's made our little family complete!
In the last year we've had so many great times with her. She walked with us at our annual JDRF walk to cure diabetes, we took her out to our family's house on the North Fork of Long Island to go pumpkin picking (where we learned she loves corn on the cob!) and we even got to bring her along to a baseball game which is one of our favorite things to do in the summer.
She sleeps with us in bed, waaaay under the covers every night. My husband is still trying to figure out how an 18 lb dog can push him out of bed! She is his very first dog and he truly understands now why I am such a crazy dog person. He plays all kinds of games with her, sings to her, and comes up with all sorts of silly names for her. He was the one that decided to name her Gracie, like Gracie Lou Freebush from the "Ms Congeniality" movies.
She's our sweet little Gracie and we can't thank NEBTR enough for matching us up with this perfect little girl. We tell everyone we can about what an amazing rescue group it is and to seriously consider rescuing their next pet because they might just get a lucky as we did!
Thank you so much!

More Photos of Flo
Flo was found alone, blind, almost deaf, and trying to survive on the streets of Hartfird, CT. Thanks to Jerrilyn Walter for taking her and loving her!!!
She is looking great! So relaxed, the poor girl!!! We are so happy she is in a safe environment, but she still needs lots of medical care.

Aunt Aggie is Feeling Better
I wanted to share the good news! Aggie has rebounded and seems to be doing better. We decided to try meds before we made that final decision and were able to buy her some time for extra loving! They are in search of a senior BT for the calendar so I mailed in her pics. I'd love to see the ole lady in a pose for everyone to share! She's about 13 or 14 so I guess she qualifies! Wish us luck!
Dog Rescue Story
Thought this story (and pictures) were too cute not to share. This dog was abandoned on a mountain for eight days by its owner after its paws were too sore to descend. Total strangers organized an amazing rescue after another climber stumbled upon it. Kind of like all the great rescuers on this list :)

The pup in that backpack is just heartwarming.

Update on Former Foster, Sassy
Dear Elly,
It's hard to believe that Sassy has been with us for 6 months now. She is a
very sweet little girl who loves furry blankets and soft beds. Who doesn't?
At first, she was afraid to even try to go up the stairs to our second
floor. Now she flies up them in order to jump on the bed before we can get
up the stairs. Needless to say, she does try to hog the bed (and the
covers). It took Sassy as long time to learn to walk comfortably outside. She
was so afraid of so many sights and sounds. Sometimes I would have to carry
her back home because she would just freeze. We'll never know what, in her
past, triggered that kind of behavior. Now she looks forward to walks and
tries to herd me to the door to get one. She is wonderful with people but
still very defensive around other dogs. We hope that eventually we can get
her to safely socialize with other dogs but one step at a time. My Mother
and I want to thank you and NEBTR for bringing Sassy into our lives!

Irving for President
Todd Oliver and his Boston Terrier dog named Irving are advancing to semifinals of the NBC television show called America’s Got Talent 2012. The winner of this year’s Talent show receives one million dollars. Oliver was already eliminated earlier this summer, but judges on the show brought back their favorites to give them a second chance. Todd Oliver and Irving got their second chance! Here is the live performance by the ventriloquist named Todd Oliver with his Boston Terrier dog named Irving. This live performance was called Irving For President!
