Bosley is Adopted

Congratulations to Bosley, who was recently adopted by the Downing family.

Bosley is a handsome one and half year old Boston Terrier. There is still a lot of puppy in Bos. He loved to play with his foster brothers and sister. He enjoys exploring the yard and running like the wind. Bos is learning how to play with toys. He will be a really fun dog to train. Bosley has had some medical issues in his short life. He recently had knee surgery which will allow him to run and jump pain free.

This young boy was left on the doorstep of the Allentown Clinic vet's office one cold night a few weeks ago.
The office is the one Dawn Stone uses and they were amazing.

Here's an example of another Boston Terrier who had a rough start in life, but reacts with nothing but love.

Special thanks to Foster Mom Janice Boyer.  It was through her loving care that Bosley got to blossom and be ready for his forever home.

Bosley Has His Surgery

Bosley, the Boston left outside of the Allentown, PA vet clinic had luxating patella surgery on Thursday. Carolyn made the arrangements and met us on the turnpike to keep him overnight and then get him to the vet hospital the next morning. It's pretty amazing. He was discharged the same day! The surgeon said he had no restrictions except those he puts on himself. After one quiet day Bosley has made every effort to follow the surgeon's instructions. He's walking, playing with our three Bostons and trying to figure out how to do everything. We're keeping him from stairs and jumping but letting him do everything else. I'm kind of sad because I thought he would face a long recovery and we'd have him with us for a while. It won't be long until he's ready for adoption. The staples should come out in two weeks. He's a great little dog and it's going to be wonderful to see him running without pain.

Meet New Foster, Bosley

Please meet new foster Bosley. He was left in Allentown on a vet office doorstep overnight on a cold night. They discovered he had a urinary issue and have been taking care of him ever since. He is now ready to leave the vet and is coming to NEBTR. THANKS SO MUCH to the Animal Clinic in Allentown, PA and to foster parents Janice and Ray Boyer!

Foster Mom Janice Boyer writes:

We picked Bosley up at the Animal Clinic in Allentown, PA late this afternoon. Bosley had been abandoned, left in a crate in their parking lot. The staff noticed that he was dribbling urine and did an extensive exam which resulted in surgery. They also neutered him and did everything he needs to be up to date medically. They named him Bosley the Boston Terrier. He is between one and two years old, about 20 pounds, very sweet and curious about everything. Full of energy. He doesn't seem to have been house trained so that will be the first order of business. Another Boston Terrier who has had a rough start in life and reacts with nothing but love. The Allentown Animal Clinic was amazing - they covered the cost of his surgery and all of his care and then handed him off to NEBTR because they want to be sure he finds a great home and that the rescue benefits from his adoption donation.

Here are two photos of this beautiful boy with the Boyers.  You can tell what good care they are giving, and how happy he is!

New Foster Bosley

I had the chance to visit with our little abandoned Boston this morning.  He has been named Bosley by the staff of the Allentown Animal Clinic where he remains after having surgery yesterday.  He still has a catheter and an IV, but Dr. T said he scarfed down his food this morning.  He is medicated and so very lethargic but did respond to a little ear scratching.  He is beautiful.
