From Rocky Rock’s Foster Mom

 

Thank you for such beautiful messages! I believe that to, he was meant to be with us for his last month to be able to let go. I spoke with his former family last night to let them know Rocky has gone to the bridge and they were very very sad and they expressed their gratitude to all of us for doing what we did for Rocky. They did not have the resources. We were all crying on the phone.

Tt was very disappointing to see Rocky getting better and better after he came to us and the suddenly his health declined and died in 4 days He passed away with Cushing's and he had fluid around his lungs caused by a tumor around his heart.  And up until Thanksgiving, he was trying to mount my Brady all the time, he would steal Brady's crate, it was funny to watch a little dog in a large crate and a bigger dog in a small crate. he would try to steal Brady's bone of his mouth and he was always ready to cuddle. I have to say I am very proud of my Brady, he was gentle and a gentleman with Rocky. Rocky will be remembered with much love and admiration, he was truly a rock. We called him Rocky Rock because he went through the ringer and he was always sweet and he wagged his little tail until the end. I don't think I can write anymore without getting emotional so I am going to take this opportunity to thank every single one of you that has sent us such loving and comforting messages! Thank you all and may God bless you for all that you do!

I love you all, what an amazing group of people we are!!! The dedication, the love, the support, the way things are so organize, the set of rules that when followed make things run so well. This is a very impressive organization.

Thank you so much, to everyone for taking the time to write such beautiful notes of support and love for us.

We send prayers to everyone that is having a difficult time and needs healing. To all the fosters and not fosters that are having health issues, may God bless you all for all that you do and may you experience His healing love, comfort and peace. May all the animals in the world experience health and peace!

Rocky Rock has gone to the Rainbow Bridge

 We have sad news about Rocky. For those of you that I didn't talk to directly and in case you don't know, we as a group did everything we could to help Rocky. He was in very bad shape and the last procedure we did on him ( to remove fluid from around his lungs) a tumor was found around the heart and little Rocky just felt so relieved he could breath again, he just stopped breathing and he left us today, quietly and peacefully. He was such a good boy, he will be missed but now he is finally at peace in a much better place. He had a great Thanksgiving with us and he filled our hearts with so much love while he was with us. It was exactly one month today that we received him into our home with so much love.
It was a joy to have him around and an honor to be able to help him transition into freedom of this so fragile body he was in.

Run free little Rocky you were so loved and so cute.

I have to say we would not have been able to help Rocky without the support of this amazing group of people! Thank you so much Victoria, Sheryl, Ginny, Jerrilyn and Jodi Groff. Please forgive me if I left someone out, but I feel sad and so does Brady. I would do it over again and the only thing I would have done differently would have been spending more time on the couch cuddling with him instead of trying to get everything done.

Thank you for taking Rocky in and loving him. Even though it was only for a short time, it made a world of a difference to him. 

He was right where he was meant to be for his last month.

He never received the kind of fiercely dedicated and loving care that you gave him.

He struggled his entire life with health issues and held on until he had the peace to let go with you.

You were a true angel to him.
I know how sad you must be and I am very sorry for your loss.

New Foster Rocky Rock

Hello everyone, Little Rocky's introduction is long overdue. We have been busy trying to adjust and take care of things. He joined our family on November 2nd.  He has been surrendered to us by his former family because they could not longer support the proper medical care for him. He just turned 10 years old. He is a very good boy and he is starting to show his personality. They named him Rocky because he is a strong little guy. The former owners saved him from being p.t.s. when he was only 3 months old. He had health problems since he was a puppy and the breeder took him to the vet to terminate his life. He has a skin condition that may take up to a year to clear. He has breathing problems, loss of muscle mass and some other health issues that need care. He is going for walks now and as a typical Boston Terrier, when it is too cold outside he turns around and he comes right back in. He follows us around all the time and he loves to be in the middle of everyone. He loves people and he loves other dogs, he talks to you and lets you know that he does not want to be in a different room, he feels the need to let you know when the phone is ringing and is sense of smell is still very sharp, watch that garbage and the turkey in the trunk of the car, he will try to get it!  He cannot have treats or his tummy will get very upset and is eating home cooked meals only.   We call him Rocky Rock because with all the issues he has he still wants to go up those stairs, he still wants to follow you around and he still wants to run and go for walks and car rides! He loves car rides!!.. He is still a long way from being ok but everyday he seems to be a little better and stronger! Like my husband says, Rocky still needs to work on learning  to communicate his needs (he forgets to ask to go to the bathroom) He was used to wee pads. And he is a great companion! We love Rocky Rock and we hope that we can help him feel like a healthy dog again Much Love and Blessings to all of you amazing and dedicated wonderful people!
