Little Buttons is Adopted

400+ miles and a nine hour round trip, well worth it to do the homecheck and bring Little Butt to her new home, with Dads Robb and Kyle in Ledyard Connecticut.  Couldn't find anyone to do the homecheck so we hopped in the car at 6:00 a.m. with all her things to drive to southwest Connecticut.  Little Butt knew she was home, jumped out to explore the multiple acre yard and woodlands, then came in the house, had a well deserved drink of water, sniffed her new sister, then proceed to play with her new toys and try out the three different beds she arrived with to decide which one she preferred to accommodate her and her toys.  I do not like to drive, but felt so positive about the applicants that I made the trip.

For those who think they cannot foster because it is so difficult to part with them, I can tell you from my own experience that there is much joy in knowing your foster has a new home and family all her own. Numerous good applicants wanted to adopt Little Butt, but the first time I chatted with Robb and Kyle I knew this would be a wonderful home and a great family for her.  So I left with much happiness in my heart knowing she arrived at the best possible place, with two people who would love her very much and give her the best life ever.

Tremendous dedication, Jeanne.
Thank you for caring for her and for taking that long but valuable trip.
Hooray for Button!

UPDATE:

Little Butt is so happy and content in her new home, settled right in, Robb and Kyle adore her, so excited and happy she's with them.  Friday night they went shopping, buying her all the necessities of life and then some, Robb said they had so much fun getting her things, I'm sure she is going to be spoiled as can possibly be, Hooray!

They adore her, say she's such a fun girl.  Prefers to sleep in her favorite bed, rather than upstairs with them, but that could change, perhaps she needs the comfort of another dog nearby for now. Saturday afternoon she's going visiting with them to make some new friends.  Robb's mother was so excited when she heard that Little Butt joined the family, she might fly up from Florida to meet her.  Meanwhile, resident dog Kiki, who would only eat canned food, has now decided that since Little Butt likes Taste of the Wild dry kibble, she does too, competition in the food chain...   ;I just love happy endings.

I called the daughter of Little Butt's late owner; she was overjoyed that we found such a perfect home for her and asked that I let them know she would be more than happy to talk with them about any information they might want or need about their girl, Robb said he would call her to let her know she is much loved and happy in her new home and how grateful they were selected as the perfect match.
