Adoptable Pup Spotlight! WILBUR

Wilbur is a senior that ended up in a shelter. He is estimated to be about 10 yrs old and is 15 lbs. It seems his back legs aren't quite formed right. He uses his front legs more. We call him "crazy legs"! He is sweet but a grumpy old man! He loves being on your lap, petted, following you around but does not like being handled in certain ways.

He is ok with other dogs and cats, but has no interest in playing and prefers they leave him alone. Wilbur would like a home with no kids where he can relax and be spoiled!

Poor girls, their owner has died and my foster mom promised that she would leave them together, no matter what. I'm still getting used to them, but I sure am proud that they are a part of my foster family for now.

New Foster Fiona

I just got Fiona yesterday afternoon.  She is a very playful 3-4 yr old.  I have deemed her the perfect dog.  She is so sweet, an awesome snuggler, and never runs out of kisses.  Oddly enough she loves birds.  We have to go on extra walks so she can chase the birds in the neighborhood.  You can often find Fiona at the back door or looking out the window at her birds.  She's an expert at tug-of-war and is quite the jumper.  She can jump about six feet high.  She is house-trained and will go to the door when she wants to go out but sometimes this is just a bird walk.  

 

She was surrendered for dog aggression so will do better in a home with out other dogs.  I took her to petsmart and there was a great dane that she cowered from and there was a pomeranian that she acted like she wanted to play with.  We didn't test this, we just kept on walking.  I don't think it will be long till this one is adopted.

Buddy is Adopted

Buddy was adopted today!  He has 2 Boston siblings and will be loved beyond words.  Today was bittersweet for me as Buddy was my first foster through NEBTR.  I've shed many tears but know this is the best for him. He already has a new shirt and loves it!

Macey Has a Forever Home

Macey has found her forever home with her Foster Mom Jane Fitzgerald.  Jane fell in love with Macey and the rest is history!  Macey will be loved forever!

New Foster Puka

Welcome new foster Puka.

Puka is a 7 year old female.  She's all cleaned up and we got her some new girl toys and a pretty collar on the way home.  She needs some TLC, but I know she'll be a good girl for a family soon.  My nosy cat introduced herself, and Puka didn't flinch-no problem with cats.

New Foster Welcome Packages

Holy Moly! In the last two weeks, NEBTR has gotten 14 new foster pups!! Sometimes, it's hard to keep up - but thanks to our incredible volunteers and foster families, we know we can help these dogs find their loving forever homes. But we can't do it without you - our online community of loving fans, followers and supporters.

When a new pup comes to us, he or she is often scared and has possibly been living in not-so-great conditions. We like to gift each new foster with a "Welcome Package" that includes yummy treats and soft toys to make them feel safe and happy, and to let them know that they will never be alone or unloved again.

We've created a special Wishlist just for this purpose. The items are small and affordable so it will be easier to give.

New Foster Lulu

Thanks Jerrilyn Walter for getting us our foster Lulu. Lulu was found as stray in Rochester and was turned in to Lollipop Farm in Rochester. I drove out there today and picked her up. She is a year old. She races around like a rocket. She has met our cats. I don't think she had ever seen a cat before. She is smaller than our cat Darwin. She is terrified of stairs. Needs some work on leash walking but we will work on that. She is a very affectionate, love little girl. The first thing she did was give me kisses.

I was worried how Zoey would accept another dog since she is bossy. But so far they seem fine. Lulu is not aggressive at all. She has a very sweet kind personality. Wally was not sure what was going on with all the commotion when we got home. He just threw back his head and let out a howl he just wanted to express his confusion over the whole situation. One thing we have to be extremely careful of is I think she could be "running dog " like Buster was. One of the first things I am going to do is get her microchipped.
