Oscar Has a Forever Home

Oscar, the Boston Terrier/Beagle mix, has found his home in Canada with Erica, Michael and Jack Metcalfe. Our sister group the Boston Terrier Rescue of Canada worked with NEBTR in this adoption. Fortunately, the treasurer of that organization lived a block away from the Metcalfes! Special thanks go to Rhea Henderson, for so lovingly taking care of Oscar, and for coordinating everything.

Erica writes, "I wanted to send you a note to let you that we have only had Oscar since Monday and we just adore him, he is such an awesome dog. I just knew when I saw his picture and write up that he was the dog for us and honestly, he is a dream. He is so gentle and kind and very well behaved and such a happy little guy.

Rhea had everything organized for us when we arrived and she packed a very nice care package for Oscar. She is such a nice lady and a great foster parent. I think she is the reason why Oscar is so wonderful.

I want to thank you again for all of your help in helping us be able to adopt him. Also, I wanted to you to know how easy it was for us to bring Oscar home. Our Customs agent simply asked us if he had all f his shots and we gave her the folder that Rhea prepared and she skimmed it over and sent us on our way. Not all customs agents are easy going though :) but I did want to let you know should any other Canadians want to adopt one of your dogs in the future.

NEBTR wrote back to her, "Thanks again for everything and I told Rhea I would keep in touch to let her know how Oscar is doing."

We all felt it was the perfect match. When somebody wants a particular dog of ours, as badly as you seemed to want Oscar, we work very hard to make it happen.

You note of happiness and love is what keeps us doing what we do. And you are right, Rhea is one of our excellent foster homes and she prepares all of her fosters with the same care and kindness for their new lives. Oscar did take a little piece of her heart with him.

I'm so glad it was smooth going through Customs.

Stay in touch. Thank you for giving this very special little guy his new forever home."
