In Memory of Daisy Mae

Today is a bittersweet day.  Last year on this day my husband, Joe drove to Sunbury PA to meet a complete stranger who was surrendering his late father's bostons who felt he was unable to provide the attention they required.  At this point we had spoken to the rescue and stated we would foster both Winston and Daisy momentarily until we could find them a foster home since Joe and I didn't feel equipped to handle two foster dogs, since we had never fostered before and already had two bostons of our own...little did we know that these two would steel our hearts within seconds and that month would turn into a year... during that year Daisy and Winston became part of our family.

Daisy became the "mother" of our gaggle of bostons and Winston had become my own personal stalker.  Joe and I would not change one thing about this past year.  Joe modified his work schedule to allow more potty breaks for Daisy, we didn't go on any vacations together (since it's impossible to find someone to watch four dogs), we planned everything around our fur family to make sure all four of them knew they were loved and never felt alone, it just felt natural to plan around them....

Today, exactly one year later we picked up Daisy Mae's remains.  😢  She had a great year with us, brought us numerous memories and laughs and we wouldn't change one thing. This girl has brought us so much love and laughter and totally changed our aspect on senior dogs. Throughout the year between Daisy getting better and becoming 100% again we were searching for her retirement home, but all along we knew she had found it and now she has retired permanently and will stay in our hearts forever.  We miss her so much and can't get her off our minds.  We wish she could celebrate wth us today knowing it's been a year of happiness, but we know she's in a better place now and is now pain free at the rainbow bridge.

Thank you everyone who has helped her throughout the past year,  she really wouldn't have made it this far without all the love and support from NEBTR, all the volunteers, donators & supporters.  You truly made a difference in her life as well as ours.  ♡

What a beautiful tribute to Miss Daisy Mae.  Thank you so much for giving her a loving home, and Winston too, for the last year of her life.
