So, got some bad news today. My Vet heard back from the Eye Specialist. Looks like Daisy's eye probably ruptured somewhere in her history, and was left untreated. This has caused irreparable damage, and she has no vision in that eye. The other eye is becoming vascularized over time, and already shows damage. So, Daisy will be put on prescription eye drops for the rest of her life, and probably we won't see a whole lot of improvement. That said, I believesimply meeting Daisy will make people forget about the damaged eye. She is such a little sweety. But I just know she is just waiting to come out of her shell. She jumps 4 feet easy when she sees me coming with her freeze dried duck training treats! I'll keep everyone updated as we go :)
I hope you are all hanging in there! I know we have all had a stressful week. But on the bright side, Miss Daisy has been adjusting to life at my funny farm. She tried to eat my pug mix Lola through the kitchen door for about a week, but has ultimately decided it is best if she is civil. Yesterday all four dogs hung out with my husband all evening with no casualties! And they each got a sweet potato chew, and no one fought! Amazing!
Daisy also does her business outside! I take her out and walk in the yard until she goes. She so far has not indicated to me inside she needs to go out, but I still call that a victory. She has learned "sit" and "lay down in your bed". She still hates being alone, but is getting better.
