Zeus was adopted by the Cross family today.
They drove in many hours of traffic from Wilmington DE to our home today
with their 12 year old son and their former NEBTR blind boy, Artie.
There was alot of energy between the two boys but we took a brisk walk
together and worked it out.
Artie, being blind, wasnt too thrilled with Zeus being all over him at
times, but I think they will be fine.
Zeus warmed right up to Gavin, their 12 year old. Gavin is just perfect
for Zeus. They will be best friends I think and he will sleep with
Gavin.
They are now on a very long car ride home to DE from NY.
I sent with them Zeus giant comfy bed, lots of food, cod liver oil,
treats, vitamins and all of his secret santa gifts.
We just found out on Friday that Zeus has an enlarged heart and the
beginnings of heart disease and this didn't phase the Cross' at all.
Thats when I knew I had to go through with it.
I cried as soon as they left - he did stop before getting in the car and
stared at me waiting for me. I waited until he jumped in on his own,
broke down and drank some wine.
He was a huge presence in our home and I will miss him terribly. He had
just started sleeping in bed with us.
Amazing amazing dog.
I think he will be very happy with the Cross family!!

Aww...Jerrilyn. I've shed a few tears for you on this one. I know it was hard for you...all of you. Even Miss Vivi loved him.
You've a heart of gold.
Merry Christmas.

Oh!!! That must have been sooo bittersweet!!! I know what a loss it will be for you, but all your work and support to prepare him for this event was such a gift and blessing to him! After watching that amazing video-bio you made for him, anyone would have wanted to adopt him (I know I did).
You are a wonderful person for all you do. Wishing Zeus a very wonderful New Year in his new home, and wishing you comfort and joy for the season.
