The Turkey Loaf was a Hit!

They love every last bite, Sunday and Maggie licked the pan clean!!

For those interested in the recipe, see below;

Turkey Loaf

·      6 pounds  of ground turkey or ground chicken or ground beef,or 2 family pac
  • No Salt, Pepper or onions
What I found to be the easiest way is-  in a pot large enough to mix all the ingredients in, this way you only have one pot to clean.

·      Assorted fresh vegetables, can use frozen – carrots, broccoli, kale, zucchini, cauliflower, spinach, etc.  – at least 3 different ones per batch, and should represent only 25% of the mixture
·      6 eggs (1 per pound of ground turkey)
·      ½ cup fresh parsley (more or less) - optional
·      uncooked oatmeal about 1 cup – optional if your dog has grain intolerance

 Add frozen vegetables to the same pot to thaw.

If you use fresh veges - In the food processor:   -  Process the fresh veges,  and parsley together.   Add the rest of the ingredients to pot, mix well. Spray 2 baking pans with Pam or grease pan with butter or oil. The pans I use are oblong cake pans approx.  9x13x2    Six pounds of meat per pan. Two pans 12 pounds of meat.
If you have a butcher you might be able to get a better price on the meat since you are buying in bulk.

Bake at 350 about 40 minutes or until turkey loaf looks browned around the sides of the pan.
Cut each pan into meal-size portions and wrap individually in tin foil, and freeze.
To serve, heat in the microwave with water.
Of course you can reduce or increase recipe according to your needs.
