Flo and Clarisse Lounge in the Sun
I think Clarisse is very happy to be here. She follows me everywhere around the house and yard, is totally crate
trained..I have never heard a peep out of her. She is low energy and started lounging in the sun - she is starting to
relax!
She gets very excited at mealtime and is completely switched over to the raw diet now and her coat looks great.
She potties in the grass and today actually picked up Vivi's toy for the first time and ran around with it!
This is a great sign for Clarisse but I have to be very careful because Vivi does NOT share her toys.
She responds to her name pretty well now and is very curious about her environment. She will go up and sniff people but the moment you reach to pet her - she is gone in a flash. This is our big obstacle. She seems to have no interest in the human touch, which makes putting her eye drops in very challenging. I put the drops in when she is in her crate but she still freezes upon being touched. I am hoping that with time, she will learn to trust and enjoy a caress now and then.
I can’t believe we have had her over three weeks already!
Here she is soaking in the sun today : )

Way to go Clarisse, I am sure that with time she will open up to being touched and loved, she knows she is safe now. - Brends
The human touch thing is just around the next corner, I have no doubt. Great strides in such a short time.
Congratulations on all your hard work paying off. :) – Chris C.
From train tracks to a yard with a pool and sister; wow. Clarisse's luck has certainly changed.....
( I'm so glad you didn't give up that day....) – Stacie Kyle

New Fosters Pugs and Leia
Well they have arrived and they are quite a joy. Leia is three and acts her age. Pugsley is 12 and doesn't look a day over 6 except for a tiny bit of grey around her eyes. Both are utd on all of their shots. They are both spayed and truly enjoy each other's company, just like sisters do. They have adjusted well and are both good with other dogs, people and kids. Pugsley is a little standoffish until she gets to know you. Leia will play as long as you want to play with her. We have to try and keep these girls together. The first two pictures are of Pugs and the next two are of Leia. The last one is of the both of them.
Linda Vermeylen
Thank you so much, Linda, for opening your home and heart to these beautiful girls!
Porter Has a Beauty Day
So Porter & Lola went to the Groomer today. They got full body massages, shampoos, ears cleaned, teeth brushed and nails clipped. (Lola got a sparkly blue mani/pedi!)
Since Porter does not like the car, we decided to fake him out. (Deb Dolan will appreciate this!). Amanda & I took both dogs for a quick walk around the block. My partner started up the truck and left the back door open. As we approached the truck we just kept the momentum and all jumped in and Deanna took off. We totally tricked him!!
He was much less anxious this time and I think he was also taking his cues from Lola. She will now have to be his Ambassador and accompany him everywhere!!
Look at this handsome boy after his bath!! He is so relaxed, silky soft & smells like blueberry cotton candy!!

Update on Patsy
This is Patsy patrolling our backyard....nobody is getting though our gate!!! LOL!!! She also was taking a nice nap this Sunday until I started snapping pictures of her.
Yesterday morning, she pulled a muscle in her right shoulder blade and was limping. She is now on anti inflamatory meds and is doing much better. She is able to put weight on her front right paw.
She has also gained 3 pounds in 3 weeks and her fur is looking so much better.
:)

Free Pets?
Maya Plays and Trains
So proud of Maya, 2 injections and nails clipped, no muzzle needed. She was filled with kisses and a wiggling nub. She had never been to our vet before but she is really stepping into a secure and happy place! Not ever day in rescue feels good, some are emotional, exhausting, frustrating but today is a feel good day! Furever home coming up...(Maya had gone from 22 lbs. to 13 in the shelter, she shut down and failed to thrive, she is now 21 lbs. looking and feeling good!)
Maria
This is a terrific video! Great work with Maya, she seems so happy and confident!
Maria it is so AWESOME to see Maya in action!!
Thank you for making that video of her!
Please tell Renata - wow we are really impressed : )

Happy Birthday Lola
Today is my sweet fur-baby Lola's 6th Birthday!! She was a puppy mill rescue out of Florida. We got her when she was just about 4-5 months old. Lived in a cage. You'd never know it - she's such a spoiled diva!
Her and Porter had homemade meatballs with their dinner & peanut butter "ice cream" for desert!!

More on Otis
I'm attaching a picture of my other half and the two boys - our Yorkie Snickers and Otis. Otis is sleeping in his crate at night and while we are at work will be separated also; my parents pee them mid day and because Otis has been such a dear they're both comfortable moving him in and out of the house and back to isolation. We are expecting him to continue to relax and settle down. He definitely still seems to be waiting for the other shoe to drop. I wish I could tell him everything's going to be alright from now on....
Anyway, Otis is being awesome - the dogs are all getting along and we're are thrilled to have him and so thankful to be a part of this organization.
Enjoy the pictures!
I love this picture - Otis wants to say good night :)
Thanks for all the support!
