i just wanted to give a quick update on Miss Fena. She is a little doll! She continues to gain energy and actually plays with toys on occasion with us! She walks well and overall her energy is low to moderate but an increase from when we first got her for sure. We don't even crate her any more. She sleeps in our bed (on my pillow mind you!) or on the couch while we're gone. She's eating well and Dr. Ford is very impressed with her coat and weight. She sleeps on her own bed for most of the night and then sneaks into bed sometime in the middle of the night : ) She loves to sleep under the covers and recently I have had to personally invite her to breakfast after it's made (spoiled!).
Dr. Ford was here this weekend to express her anal glands and check her ears. She has one gland that gets hard and filled quickly and we're not sure if it's because of all the extra "skin" and tail placement back there or due to something else. Either way, it may need to be attended to monthly. Her ears are gross way down deep still with icky bacteria. We're flushing them out daily and Dr. Ford is working on getting Baytril-Synotic to help clear up the grossness. She certainly doesn't like the process but she tolerates it for us.
Basically she has a few medical conditions that will need daily attention for the rest of her life, but other than that, she's doing very well. She is a little treasure and we are blessed to take care of her!
